We booked the hotel through Expedia in Oct 2018 and, as usual, received an email confirming our reservation and letting us know that there was no need to call and reconfirm. I received a text from the hotel shortly afterward saying, ‘Confirming 2019 Beachouse Inn & Suites resv 2/26-3/02 King Studio. Thank you Beachouse, Silver Sands Point LLC’. I thought that was a nice touch but didn’t respond as we had already received confirmation from Expedia, and I have never had to confirm directly with a property when using Expedia. And there was no ‘call to action’ in the text, no request to reply and confirm the dates. We assumed it was merely a note to let us know the room was reserved.|We arrived on Feb 26th and were told that she wasn’t sure if we were coming! I said that Expedia had confirmed our reservation. She said she sent a note through Expedia (saying our credit card had been declined) which I never received. My credit card company wasn’t able to confirm the decline as it was too long ago, but it was the same credit card we used to pay the bill when we arrived! She also mentioned the text and we told her there was no request to answer and confirm as Expedia had already done that. I contacted Expedia after we returned home and they said that their confirmation is all that is required. There were no further attempts to contact us, no follow up emails or texts asking us to please reply to confirm our reservation, so we assumed all was well. |She had a room available for two nights but we had to switch for the second two nights, which was fine. It worked out but it could have been a disaster!! And we weren’t the only ones to have problems with her booking methods! We spoke with another couple who did everything ‘right’ and their room still wasn’t ready when they arrived! They had to find another hotel room for the first night!|It is a nice property – clean and comfortable, close to the beach and lots of restaurants – and I would have liked to go back there again. However, I wouldn’t take the chance that our room would actually be reserved when we arrived!! Read moreCurrently in Clearwater beach. Wr have had reservations at the beachhouse booked for over 3 months. Drove 20 hours to get here. Arrived at 8:18 pm on July 3rd. At checkin no one is at hotel. They only communicate via text and then very little. Was told our king room had been upgraded to another location next door. Upon looking in the room discovered it was two basically twin beds and a much lesser in appearance, actually I'd call it a flee bag roach coach place. Definitely not an upgrade. Upon texting hey this is not what we paid for and reserved months ago. Whoever the extremely rude jerk was on the other end said we have nothing else available and you can check availability tomorrow. At that they stopped answering our text. This started a nightmare of events including trying to get Travelocity whom we booked this horrible place thru to do something. Very long story shortened... Travelocity was zero help. They actually were asking us well what hoyels are around you? Really? I'm over a thousand miles from home standing on a sidewalk now at almost midnight with just a cellphone. I thought that's what Travelocity does for a living. Anyway finally walked to several local hotels and booked a room for 3 times the rate we had reservations for at beach house pos place. This place is absolutely horrible if I could give them a negative million stars I would. My wife and I were literally feeling chest pains at the end of this ordeal and these worthless pieces of garbage have absolutely zero concern or consideration for the nightmare they caused us. Also, while we were standing outside the beach house dump. Two very nice ladies whom said they had been coming there for over twenty years said they'd never had problems until the last two years. Since it apparently sold to new owners. Anyway, they were supposed to stay there as well but the place had no parking spaces and they had been trying for over an hour to contact management through text again because they do not answer. Read moreYou can't beat this little place for the price and location! I was a little anxious about staying here as it was so much cheaper than any of the other places around. We were pleasantly surprised as the room (Unit 1) cozy, yes small but it served our purpose and really all we needed. Charmene was very helpful; it was our anniversary so she upgraded us to the Beachouse as we originally booked our stay at the Silver Sands next door. We are used to sleeping with a ceil fan which the room did not have, I asked if she had a fan we could use she immediately went and bought us a brand new one to use. The room could have used a little upgrading as the tub and the cabinet in the kitchenette are was very old. The room faced the street but the door opened up to the pool area. We were worried that it might be too noisy but we didn't have any issues as the street really wasn't that busy. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and activities within walking distance. We would definitely...
