West River Whiskey Co. — Local services in Deadwood

I stopped in to West River Whiskey Co. last week. I happened to catch the tail end of a whiskey sampling from. After it concluded I was asked if I wanted to do a sampling. I said for sure. He also asked why I didn't just join the one in progress. I said I didn't want to slow it down and I wanted to here some of the information again. The experience was AMAZING!!! Dave definitely knows what he's talking about. Learned a lot about the whiskeys and bourbons they sell. The whole experience was $20. You get a free glass and a lot of different samples. Was passing through Deadwood for a “Wild West” experience and wanted to find something local and authentic. This was far better than I could have imagined!

They had a variety of bourbons, ranging from smoky, aged barrel flavors to sweet and light honey and caramel bourbons. West River bourbons and whisky have the range for people with experienced palates and a those who are just getting into bourbon.

My partner and I did the tasting experience - $20 for every bourbon and it included a local (and beautiful) whisky glass. I ended up buying bourbons for myself and as gifts because they were so good and the gentleman working at the store was so helpful, attentive, and personable.

We had such a wonderful experience at West River Whiskey Company. So happy and surprised that our golden retriever could join us as we bottled our own whiskey. We felt well taken care of during this opportunity and afterwards when we realized we left some gifts behind. When I reached out to inquire about this, my email was responded to immediately and they shipped our forgotten package free of charge. The exemplary customer service they provided to us continued even when we were back home. Thank you for taking such great care of us in person and afterward.
