My family has a tradition of reserving dining, and using our thanksgiving dinner feast to plan our Christmas shopping lists for the family. We have never dined at Apple Blossom, we saw their menu, and figured great option. In advance I messaged the staff to verify that children could dine (no pre-fix options for kids were listed) I was told of course, and AGAIN confirmed upon arrival that my two children (9 and 12) could “split” the adult meal for a fee. Our meal was….. ok…. But the portions for a $70 per person meal were small and two servings of the opener carrots were cold. I was 4-5 bites into my soup starter when the waitress tried to take it, and when I informed her I wasn’t don’t, she scoffed that the main course was ready (swear not 7 minutes had passed since the appetizer was served). She also attempted to take a full serving of carrot starters my son didn’t finish but husband was saving to eat with his main course. Turkey was dry…. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were flake package potatoes. Steak was cooked well. Desert pumpkin cheesecake was great, chocolate pudding was ok. When the bill arrived and we were charged for 4 full Price adult meals AND an un-disclosed “kitchen fee” and gratuity (for a party of 4) I was caught off guard but asked the waitress to clarify to which she stated “ I asked, my manager said since your children has individual deserts and carrot appetizers (three small roasted carrots per child) and split an entree we were subject to the full adult pricing….” The manager came over and confirmed, they would not honor the previously discussed “split pricing” of one adult meal because of their service error. Needless to say, $375 plus tip later we will never return and I will be very vocal about my frustration. So...
Read moreHonestly the worst dining experience I’ve had in Denver. My fiancé and I went for brunch. It took several moments for anyone to even greet or seat us, but no big deal. The way the entrance is set up is a little awkward, so maybe they didn’t see us. We ordered coffee and a mocktail. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, even the coffee. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. After ordering our entrees, our server disappeared. Didn’t even bring out our entrees, which also took a long time to arrive. Also wasn’t a big deal at first, sometimes meals take a while. Well, the fries that came with my entree were cold and the sunny side egg was congealed and lukewarm at best. My fiancé’s french toast was also barely warm. It had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. I sat with an empty drink and untouched food. Not one server stopped by to check on us, and they actively avoided us when we tried to flag them down. My fiancé and I could stomach the french toast, so we split that. My fiancé finally flagged down a server and asked for our bill. The server saw my untouched food and still didn’t ask how everything was. I don’t always expect out of the world experience, but I do expect more from a restaurant that charges $20 an entree. When we told a manager about our experience, he was more bothered by us than he was by the quality of his food and service staff, but he did agree to comp my meal, which was fair enough. The thing is that I wouldn’t have even asked for a comp meal; I would have much preferred a hot meal, which could have been easily remedied by a server if they bothered to check on us. I’d recommend avoiding this place at all costs; you can get a better experience for the same money from a Whole...
Read moreWe went for brunch and it was not worth the price. They explain in great detail there's a 23% service charge which at least this was communicated on the menu. However, my friends ordered coffee and I ordered an iced tea. The waiter offered them a refill so when he came back to fill their coffee I asked for a refill on my iced tea. When I got my bill is was $8.00 for iced tea! They charged me for a refill on iced tea. However my friends were not charged for a refill on coffee. Again, this should be communicated on the menu or the waiter should have said I can get you more iced tea but you will be charged for a second one. They have a whole paragraph on the service charge but no communication on what beverages get a refill. I've dined at many restaurants and this was the first time I've ever been charged for a refill on iced tea. In addition, the customer service was barely average. One of my friends was on a work call, and they brought her food out, saw she wasn't at the table for 20 minutes and we had to ask them to take it and put it under the warmer until she got back. I don't mind paying a service charge and knowing it up front, but the service should match the fee the customer is paying. Also, the food was extremely salty. I like salt, and it was too much even for me. Finally, I tried calling to talk to someone about my experience and I also contacted them by email weeks ago and I still never heard back from anyone. This tells me they don't care about what people think or what their experience was at this restaurant. I would stay away from this place. There are so many great restaurants in Denver that are worth it, this isn't...
