Fat Ass Ranch & Winery Downtown — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

Let me just start with this place is great been going for years with my service dog today was the first time I have been questioned about her which is fine I identified her as a service dog and was asked to prove it which I did with her card in the state of Texas it is illegal to ask for proof the owner was very nice but I feel needs to read up on the laws as my service dog is allowed in any establishment that I am allowed and by not knowing the law made me feel belittled by causing a small scene I do not hold anything against him and will return to his business on my next trip and hopefully this never happens again I truly love this place and we visit every trip to Fredericksburg which is every few months in all the years of going I have never been questioned till today I’m hoping they will study the laws and I can resume going to one of my favorite places if not I guess there are several others who are up to date on the law If you are reading this please stop by and have a glass of wine and enjoy it truly is...

Don’t trust that the tasting room will actually be open during business hours

Kinda frustrating when you drive in from out of town and you are across from the main winery on 290 and you call to make sure the Main Street location will stay open until 5 and explain you want to buy a few bottles of wine and get some sangrias. You are told yes only to get there and they are closed and you can no longer buy the bottles of wine or sangria that you had been hoping for. Even worse when the girl is inside and just looks at you. We had visited the other location prior, but this time we were down Main st. And we came in to purchase a bottle of their peach wine that we really loved. Unfortunately one of the staff members here was not very friendly and we felt rushed during our Wine tasting! She was an older lady and I did not catch her name, but it just made our visit unpleasant… there was another younger lady up towards the front though and she was so sweet and attentive!
