Wild Sage in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, offers a truly exceptional dining experience, one that seamlessly blends rustic charm with refined culinary artistry. Our recent visit left us utterly impressed, particularly by the standout dishes and the impeccable service.
The elk carpaccio was, without exaggeration, the best we've ever had. Thinly sliced, tender, and perfectly seasoned, it was a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate. It's a must-try for any discerning foodie. Following this, the garlic soup was a delightful surprise – rich, creamy, and bursting with the robust flavor of garlic, yet elegantly balanced.
For our main courses, we opted for the sable fish and the rabbit pappardelle. The sable fish was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, with a delicate flavor profile that showcased its freshness. The rabbit pappardelle was equally impressive, the tender rabbit paired beautifully with the hearty pasta and a flavorful sauce. Both dishes were executed with precision and showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and culinary expertise.
However, the dining experience was elevated even further by our server, Duck. His experience and knowledge were truly remarkable. He navigated the menu with ease, providing insightful descriptions of each dish's flavor profile and offering thoughtful recommendations. His passion for the food was evident, and his attentiveness made us feel genuinely valued as guests.
The ambiance of Wild Sage is warm and inviting, perfectly complementing the rustic beauty of Jackson Hole. It's a place where you can relax and savor a memorable meal, knowing that you're in the hands of a team that truly cares about the dining experience.

Read moreI have dined at Wild Sage three times as a local here in Jackson. The first two experiences were first class in every regard. We asked to speak to the chef, and he came to our table for effusive compliments on his garlic soup, and the rabbit entree, which were quite amazing dishes. Given this exceptional experience I took my wife, who had just returned from the east coast, to celebrate Christmas night. Wild Sage had extra dishes with lobster, etc., for the special occassion. The resturant was full. Inspite of the full resturant being at full capacity the service was impeccable, first class all the way. Unfortunately, the soup was bland and lacked flavor. Likewise, our rabbit entree was simply bland and lacking of the flavors and taste of our prior experience. I asked for the Chef to our table and he complied. He explained that our less that optimally tasting food was simply due to the large crowd and the expanded menu listing which prevented precise tasting by the chef during the preparation of the food. Surprisingly, no offer was made to recoup our lack of dining experience for such as expensive dining. I will contact the resturant at some point and see if this will be corrected for the future. If it is not I would only suggest that us locals go to dine there when we expect very slow nights so that an adequate preparation and experience can...
Read moreOur family showed up for dinner reservations on Christmas Day, but were told they had no reservations for us. I explained that I had 3 separate conversations with their hotel staff regarding this reservation, starting with the 1st one when I was put on a waiting list since the end of November because they were not accepting reservations for non-hotel guest at the time I called. Later I called back to check on the status of the waiting list and then again when the hotel actually called me to confirm that they could accommodate our reservation for Christmas Day. So when our family of 6 showed up for our dinner reservation we were shocked and frustrated to be told that they were fully booked and we were not on the list. The two host working were very polite and accommodating and found a way to accommodate us. The food and service were as excellent as always! Lesson learned that if you have a reservation call back and make sure that who ever you spoke to really took your name and put you on the books and you have a reservation. Supposedly you are supposed to to receive a text confirmation, I never received that even though I spoke with the restaurant...
