Me and my boyfriend was on our first vacation in LA, our first vacation in US in general as a matter of fact. We wanted a middle class cheap hotel cause we wanted to spend our money elsewhere, and would not be spending as much time there. After an 11 hour flight and a long ass taxi drive we ended up in a really scary neighbourhood and our hotel was far away from the attractions we wanted to visit, we had not done our research properly. A rough start on the vacation to say the least, we were desperate to get away and get a new hotel nearby Hollywood. It was late in the evening and most hotels were fully booked and would not take us in. However, city center did, the hotel manager, I have no words. This man was the hero of the hour, such a nice guy, we had already spent alot of money at the first hotel and had to wait 3-4 days for a part-refund, the hotel manager fully understood and gave us the cheapest room they had, our trip was saved. || ||Great location, only a 5 minute walk to the underground that goes to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Universal studios and so on. Our room had a queen size bed, a flat screen TV, air condition, a mini fridge and the room was a great size for our stay. However the standard lives up to it’s 2,5 stars. We had issues with getting warm water from the shower, the toilet clogged 2 times and it was stains on the wall. It reflected that the hotel has not been refurbished in quite a while. We are a young couple and was able to see through this, but from an adult’s point of view I would not bring my kids here because of sanitary and health reasons. I think the guys that works here including the cleaning lady deserves to work under better circumstances, small changes could make this hotel better and rate it at least 3 stars. The service was excellent, the guys were really helpful and genuinly nice. Great for a weekend trip I would say, close to public transport and in the heart of...
Read moreThis place is dingy, dark and outright DISGUSTING!!!!! The room's dirtiness looked like it was cursed with a demon. The moment we stepped in, the bedsheets were stained and I could feel the dirtiness seeping through the bloodstained walls. ||||We stayed there for 4 nights and wanted to leave as soon as we saw the hotel but we couldn't because we couldn't get a refund on the room||||The first day, we put the 'make up room' sign out for the housekeeper to clean the rooms. The room was made up, but they did not change the sheets. The second day when we put the 'make up room' sign out again, we came back and it was changed to a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. We were accused of putting the wrong sign when we confronted the staff to change the towels. They gave new towels but they did not even take the old towels out so we were left with a million towels at the end of the trip. ||||On the third day, when we did not put out any sign they did not clean the room either. We even wrote a note asking them to change the sheets but they did not throughout the whole stay. We know this as the stains we saw from the first day were there throughout. ||||It was a terrible and life-threatening experience at the so-called "hotel" and I am surprised that I didn't contract any diseases there. ||||I don't advise anyone to ever stay there. Even the Lyft driver that picked us up at the last day commented that this is the worst...
