Disappointing. To summarize the meal, we experienced slow service and small portions of food lacking in the anticipated vibrant flavors that Indian food is typically known for.
As a family of curry lovers we visited Ganesh early on a Sunday evening and found approximately a third of the tables occupied. Service was incredibly slow given the 4 staff floating around the restaurant, we waited over 20 minutes after seating to have our drinks order taken. All orders were taken using a tablet, and it seemed that there was only one device available. The vegetable samosas, filled with potato and a few peas were lacking in flavor and this set the tone for the rest of the meal. The two chicken dishes we ordered, korma & karahi, were small and again lacking flavor. These were served with plain rice (in place of the pilau rice that we had asked for). The mixed grill sizzling platter that we had ordered had clearly been forgotten and when we inquired there was some confusion regarding the order. This arrived some minutes later and was also disappointing in it's size. Whilst ordering it we had confirmed that it included the seek kebabs (a particular favorite) and were reassured that it included 2 pieces. We came to realize that 2 pieces meant 2 small bite size morsels. Given the any other options available in the Park City area we will not be returning to...
Read moreTurn up the heat!! I love Indian food and was excited to finally try Ganesh since I live locally and hadn’t yet. Overall everything lacked flavor and was exceptionally bland and mild for “spicy Indian food”. Some positive things- the menu is quite impressive, lots of great dishes described on there. The restaurant is immaculate and authentic
Now onto the food details...
We started with the Gobi Manchuria which is the battered califlower appetizer. This was the best thing we tried. Unfortunately most of the califlower pieces were way over-cooked... complete mush. The one or two pieces that had an aldante texture were tasty. Then we had Spinach Pacora which they described on the menu as dumplings. They were far off from dumplings, which is fine but they were 80% fried (undercooked) tasteless batter covering little bits of spinach... they looked like broken little chips. Not good. The sauces that came with them were oddly fluorescent colored so I’m assuming had a lot of food dye in there.
Next we had the Bindi Masala which was requested as spicy. It was as mild as ketchup. Come on Ganesh- TURN UP THE HEAT!! It was also lacking in flavor, really bland. I did like that the ocra wasn’t over cooked.
Overall there was a lack of flavor, spice and execution of these signature dishes. It was the off season (November) so maybe it gets better. I...
Read moreService was meh but the food was, and I don’t say this unless it truly was, nasty. They told me 45 minutes for my takeout order and when I got there, I waited for an additional 30 minutes surrounded by people who were experiencing the same and had been waiting even longer. I overheard talk from an Uber eats driver that this is a common occurrence. I didn’t care too much about this, I get it, it happens. I ordered tikka masala and when I opened it I immediately knew something was off. It looked like the sauce had been cut with water and there was nothing in it. No veggies, nothing. Just watered down, bottom of the pan sauce. Looks like there are other reviews here that mention the same “v8 soup” texture. It was gross and everything else tastes old. I don’t understand how this place has a good rating. I was furious after waiting so I immediately called and gave them a chance to explain themselves. They gave me a refund without hesitation and it kind of seemed like they knew they messed up. My guess is that they were so swamped they ran out of stuff and slapped something together. Anyway, totally NOT worth it, you’re better off driving down Parleys to Bombay House...
