Horrible. Worth reading. This was my first time visiting this establishment. I was excited based on the decent reviews and my love for pizza. My husband and I ordered a cheese bread and veggie pizza. We sat inside and waited for our order. There was only 1 other couple there and about 7 young guys working. As we are waiting a long time (30mins) for our small pizza, I looked around and realized how filthy the place was! Garbage overflowing everywhere, filthy equipment and tables, garbage all over the floor..etc. etc. Finally we got our pizza and left back to our hotel. We realized when we opened the box that it was a meat lovers..definitely NOT what we ordered. I called the establishment immediately and explained the situation to the employee. He said "ugh it looks like you ordered the meat special"..he must have looked at our order slip. I explained to him that I definitely understand that is what they wrote down but it is definitely not what I asked for..as I am a vegetarian. He was rude and cocky and told me "I guess you can bring it back and we will give you a new one". This was not what I had in mind but since we were right up the road, starving and 20 bucks in, we thought we should get our replacement. When we arrived I brought the meat pizza to the counter..the kid (long beard, 20s, arm tattoo and backwards hat- hope the owner reads this) grabbed the pizza, said "its in the oven" and THREW THE PIZZA ON THE GROUND BEHIND HIM!!! And walk away. I am not kidding you, this was the exact interaction. This was the most obnoxious behavior I have ever witnessed. A simple misunderstanding on an order became a huge dramatic mess that he wanted to make seem like my fault. Like I wanted to drive all the way home after waiting 30 minutes for a pizza just to come back for another wait. Although I was annoyed at first I realized that there was a misunderstanding and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was absolutely blown away by his actions..I mean really... this place was such a filthy dump that he even threw our pizza on the ground. Blown away. Health department needs to visit this dump. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. So many better...
Read moreAs a local in Sedona for 20 years, I’ve been a customer since Famous opened in the Village of Oak Creek. I knew the original family owners from Greece and was happy to see their success and expansion into West Sedona and Flagstaff. In all the years of getting pizza from their different locations, I’ve never had a bad customer service experience till today. Many younger people working there now, so at times not the best eye contact or courtesy but good enough. Today, Friday, 4/28/23 when I let the manager of the West Sedona location know that my last purchase on Easter weekend was rancid or burnt from sitting under the warmers too long, he said he could do nothing for me since I waited more than a day or two to tell him. I don’t know about you, but I don’t go for pizza every night. The next time I came in after the very bad pizza slices was today. I didn’t realize there was a warranty time limit for pizza that was served and was inedible!:) I was surprised he didn’t say he apologized for the bad quality or didn’t refute that that could have happened, just that I was too late to get compensated with a replacement slice. Being a small town (if you take away the tourists), you would think he’d realize I wasn’t scamming for a free piece of pizza. I tried to give him the date it happened to give some context in case it happens on holiday weekends when it’s hard to plan for the volume and some things may spoil. So, instead of talking to me like a human being, or thanking me for being a customer for years, he immediately tells me he will do nothing for me and starts to walk away. Really? Hmmm…. about $2 of your cost and a little courtesy would have continued my business there. Even an explanation or any consideration as I brought in my credit card to pay if needed. Sedona is becoming more and more of a tourist town every year and apparetblt repeat local business is not valued nor is polite conversation. Goodbye Famous, great costumer service, rancid slices and see ya on all the...
Read moreIt is sad to have to give bad reviews to local businesses in our community. My first visit to Famous Pizza was supposed to be a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it was quite far from that. When I approached our server to let him know our Margherita pizza had mostly sauce and no cheese, he pretended to be confused. I had to expressly say that my daughter had literally had a slice of pizza with sauce and basil. The sauce was not even good, it was just canned sauce with no flavor. I showed him the pizza, and rather than acknowledging the obvious, he asked another server to come talk to me. I repeated the same information. Their only response was that I was complaining about a pizza I had already paid for. I responded that that was exactly what I was doing, and that I needed them to offer a solution, maybe change it for a pizza with as much cheese as a Margherita is supposed to have. When I realized they were not going to do anything about my concern, I told them I was not going to insist. Then they said how “sorry” they were, to which I responded they clearly weren’t “sorry”. I spent almost $70 in pizzas that were overcooked and Margherita pizza with no cheese for the most part. Poor quality, terrible customer service, and wasted money are far from what a pleasant pizza dinner on a Friday evening is meant to be. I’m sure they thought we were tourists they won’t see again, for which I couldn’t not write this review. I hope they reconsider how they treat customers and the kind of work they’re doing in the kitchen before they may not have any...
