The manager was very nice. But the rest of it was not was they advertise. They say that pull out beds are available on request what they don't mention is that most rooms cannot fit any other piece of furniture. Resort Fee LOL for what. They list these for their resort fee Internet access Phone calls In-room coffee Parking Housekeeping. There's no real internet sure they'll give you a password to use it but good luck using it. Phone calls? Seriously please justify this. In Room Coffee lol i paid 150 for a room whats included in the 150? i didn't drink it they better not be using the same bag of coffee i paid for. I think double charging for an item is illegal. Parking? if I'm paying for parking there's an understanding that some sort of security is provided. Its Motel 6 parking Housekeeping once again i paid 150 whats included in that? When i went to take a shower in the morning there were long black hairs in the shower im the only one who took a shower and the party i was with didn't have black hair. But I'm paying a house keeping fee, For? Utility surcharge: $2.99 per accommodation per night. And again whats included in the 150? So if you're paying for a room electric and water isn't included, interesting.
Then the Building/Safety code violations. Not sure what kind of building inspector they have in South Lake because everywhere else that building would have never passed. its in violation of the NEC Code, OSHA Codes, Fire Safety Codes, and I'm sure the Local Building code.
Romex electrical wire is for indoor use ONLY exposed Romex is a Fire Hazard and Electrical Shock Hazard both of which can result in death. The romex exposed is over 30ft in length and no more than 7.5 feet from the ground. if a child were to stand on the heating vent they would be able to grab hold of the wire. The other life threatening violation is the Exit Sign not only is it on a circuit that is on a switch (Exit signs are supposed to be on an emergency circuit in the event of an outage and fire you can still see the exit sign). But there Romex coming out of a recessed light stapled to the ceiling to the exit sign (exposed romex again) And if you look at the wire coming out of the light fixture there's black burn marks on the wire. This place has the nerve to charge a resort fee when they put customers lives at risk. I'll be asking for my money back and contacting the local fire and building inspector, and just for kicks the local news. Don't pay for a place that's more concerned about every dime they can save or make that your safety isn't...
Read moreI recently had an unexpected emergency during my visit to Lake Tahoe, and I cannot express my gratitude enough for the service and kindness I received at the Tea Garden Lodge.
Due to the circumstances, I had to rush to the hospital, and we didn't get discharged until the late hours of the night, around 3 am. Feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about our accommodation situation, I decided to call the Tea Garden Lodge to explain the whole situation.
From the very first moment, the manager Jimmy displayed incredible compassion and empathy. He listened and reassured me that everything would be taken care of. This gesture alone provided a much-needed sense of relief during this tough time.
When we finally arrived at the hotel, exhausted and emotionally drained, Jimmy welcomed us with open arms. He inquired about my friend's well-being, showing genuine concern and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Throughout our time at the Tea Garden Lodge, Jimmy continued to be a constant source of support and assistance. He regularly checked in on us, making sure we were comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. It was evident that he went above and beyond his duties to ensure our stay was as stress-free as possible.
The Tea Garden Lodge itself is a delightful place to stay. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and provided a cozy ambiance that added to our overall comfort. The location was convenient, with easy access to the attractions of South Lake Tahoe.
Considering the exceptional service and the kindness we experienced during our emergency stay, I can confidently say that I will be returning to the Tea Garden Lodge whenever I'm in Lake Tahoe. Moreover, I highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting the area. The manager's genuine care for his guests and the overall quality of the establishment make it a top-notch choice for accommodation.
Thank you once again Jimmy for going above and beyond to provide comfort and support during a difficult time. Your kindness and dedication truly made a difference, and I am forever...
Read moreWe were in South Lake Tahoe for a weekend trip and were supposed to stay at a nearby boutique hotel that was pet-friendly. The hotel cancelled our reservation less than 3 hours before check-in due to overbooking, which left us scrambling as we searched for an affordable alternative. This was quite difficult since it was a Saturday during peak ski season, needed to be pet-friendly, and a decent price. Luckily I came across the Tea Garden and snagged their last available room!! The guy who took my call and came to get me checked in was so kind and helpful. It was nice to interact with a genuinely good person who runs a hotel in South Lake after dealing with some shady business owners at the previous hotel. Even though he knew we were desperate for a room, he did not bump up the pricing on us or take advantage of the situation. The room was affordable, pet-friendly, and even came with a king bed like we wanted! We really lucked out finding this place so last minute, it was exactly what we needed for the night.
While the rooms aren't super nice, they have everything you need! They are spacious, the thermostat adjusted quickly and maintained a warm temp, the bed was comfy, had four pillows, reliable wifi, and came with a TV that had all the streaming platforms on it. No breakfast or additional amenities, pretty basic but got the job done for a cheaper place to stay in a prime location! It is walking distance to the Heavenly ski village and close to tons of restaurants and things to do. There is parking on site in a lot, they have plenty of spaces. You get a key at check in and can drop it in a box by the lobby when you're ready to check out. Thank you for a nice stay, I will never forget how you saved our weekend trip and we will plan to book again next time we need a pet friendly place...
