The ice cream and shakes here are just okay. I’ve had much better ice cream elsewhere. The final product looks pretty but doesn’t taste as good as it looks. It’s like a milkshake with a bunch of hostess snacks attached. Also, this place is dangerous! It’s very small. The workers move very slowly and they allow entirely too many people into the shop at once. They do not attempt to limit the number of patrons at All. There were easily 60 people crammed into this tiny place when I visited on Sunday July 12th. About half of the people wore no mask. They have arbitrary tape lines on the floor but people were constantly walking pass and no one seemed to care (including the shop). Also there were crowds of people sitting right outside of the shop so waiting outside isn’t a safe option either. I ordered 2 shakes and a waffle ice cream concoction. It literally took an hour from the time I walked in to get the ice cream. The majority of the wait time was after I had already ordered and paid. Extremely log waits in a tiny overly crowded shop with no patron limit, social distancing or mask enforcement!!! No thanks. Avoid this place until the pandemic passes. I’m getting retested for covid 19 after visiting this shop. So not worth it....
I’ve noticed management decided to reply to my review with an untruthful, generic response which leads me to believe he/she lacks integrity. Instead of apologizing for the failure to protect the public by adhering to the state’s rules, management chose to double down with lies and so...Per the Governor’s mandate in Virginia “ All Virginians must continue to comply with the statewide face covering requirement in indoor public spaces“. (Verbatim)... management/employees are NOT enforcing this rule or at least were not when I visited recently. If you visit this ice cream shop, I’m sure you’ll experience lack of mask enforcement also. I don’t mean one or two people, there were several. There are literally photos attached to recent google reviews of customers inside of the store who aren’t wearing mask. LOL Also it is impossible to stand 6 feet apart from other customers in this tiny shop and again, they do Not limit the number of people allowed in at once to even try to accommodate 6 feet apart. See...
Read moreThe all around experience was nothing short of AMAZING! We were in search of a funnel cake and saw another place on the oceanfront strip first and decided to stop. It was tragic! They were reheating a funnel cake in a pan, and was very rude when I asked for my $18 refund. Then threw my change and receipt. So preceding on we decided to try The Sweet Spot!!! It was like heaven opening up its food gates just for us lol! My toddler love it, and so did us all. I got the funnel cake! It was hot, not soggy and not greasy. It was wrapped perfectly and unique! My toddler got a kid's size cup of ice cream and it was enough for us all. The ice cream was realllllly good as well with a waffle chip for garnish. The smell and decor inside and outside is definitely a plus! Carl came to our table frequently to ask how was everything and if we needed anything. He was super friendly, and cool. If I could hug him I would because I expressed how great everythinwas. I got more for my money at this place then the previous place and saved $6. You will never forget how someone or something made you feel and this was a great experience. I will definitely be back! This is the only place to go to on the oceanfront for the best all around ice cream (with tons of toppings), wrapped waffle cones, desserts and FUNNEL CAKES. Oct 31st. 2020 was an experience to remember, so thank you! Blessings on your...
Read moreThe 3 stars are for the product. It wasn't amazing, but it was good. I'd buy it again. However, the customer service was lacking. With a line out the door, I overheard someone behind the counter say "45 minutes". Someone asked if the wait was 45 minutes from the time you order. They immediately got defensive saying how fresh their products were. Based on their google reviews this is their go-to response, though this customer didn't seem agitated at all, but curious. Then a customer (2nd in line) walked out stating that people should be wearing masks. Not sure if they left, because of the wait times or the masks. The people behind the counter start handing masks to people without them. Everyone was standing inches apart, if that. People had masks down around their chin, down below their nose. There were countless children in line that couldn't wear masks. IMO, if you're not going to enforce the number of people in the building, the distance between customers, or proper mask wearing; don't do anything. There's no need to call out someone who isn't wearing one, that could have a medical exemption or the vaccination, if every other standard is not...
