I was really trying not to make a review but I just can’t keep ignoring the lack of food quality, service, management and decent hygiene at this location. I literally go out of my way to travel to the Bryant Irving location because Weatherford’s quality has been awful for at least a year+.
This is just one of the experiences I’ve had and friends have had among many bad and why I don’t go here: Go inside, not busy; Every table is dirty, not dinner hour or just after, around 8:30. Walk all over food, spilled drinks, sticky tables and booths. Finally get a table at 8:50 with only 3 tables already seated, not sure why it took 20 minutes but regardless. Waitress comes, definitely in a bad mood. I order (because it’s 8:50 and Happy Hour is at 9:00) the mini chicken-chimis where they are discounted after 9. She says they can’t do that, when I have been to 3 other locations and have done it EVERY time, no lie. She offers a really expensive meal and I decline. We order queso and our meals. What seems to be a disgruntled and very uninformed manager, comes over and explains why they can’t do chimis for the reasonable hh price, (he tells me this, it’s 9:03). We wait for over an hour for our food (now only 3 tables are left with people finishing their food), and I we still had not received our queso, waitress is nowhere to be found. Other waiters and waitresses including hostess, are sitting down together, laughing and talking. Meanwhile, dishes are literally on every table, and the floor still has not been swept during the time we have entered the building to while we waited to be seated, and receive any food. All the time I waited, I could of had those chimis all this time. Our entrees finally show up, cold and tasting off. Our waitress tried to run off, and I go “uh we never got our queso”. She goes “oh let me check on it”. ... It’s queso. Queso. You dip the ladle into the pot and pour into a bowl. And she brings it and it’s so hard and dry, clearly she forgot it and picked it up from the window where it’s been sitting for over an hour. I tell my husband it’s really bad and he suggests we just leave after all of this, I say no, we’ll pay and leave. She comes back and I tell her the queso was really bad and we didn’t even eat it and she goes, “I’ll take it off your check”, now she wants that tip all of the sudden. She brings the check and lo and behold, the queso is still on it and I got double charged for one of the entrees. I flag her down again by waving across the dining room and tell her the ticket is wrong, she takes off the entree but not the queso. I was so angry at this point, I didn’t even want to speak with her again and so just to paid for the queso and entrees.
The staff at awful. They answer the phone, with someone who is I unknowledgeable about the restaurants deals and promos and can barely speak English. (This just happened tonight, and meanwhile I hear people laughing and servers talking in the background), there is no sense of basic hygiene, or hard work ethic. I work in the service industry and this is appalling. Don’t give me a generic response of “we’re sorry you didn’t have a good experience, mind telling us more?” Fix your delinquent restaurant. It’s been over a year of bad service, disrespectful managers, lazy staff and cooks. This should be more than enough for you all to clean house and start with a new staff and actually make this restaurant rated...
Read moreI like going here with my family or on date night. Always friendly waitresses but some I noticed do not wash their hands in the bathroom. Their mixed drinks are really good and they always have specials. They have some good vegetarian options and you can even make it vegan.
Edit: I just went and had a horrible waiter. I ordered the Verdi Mushroom and Spinach. He brought my food back with some sort of white sauce on it. When I said something about the sauce he said "I didn't know if the white sauce would be okay". At first I said okay because I just don't like making a scene. When he didn't bring my veggies and lime rice and was still charged for a whole meal I was upset. I scraped off the white sauce because I am vegan. He walked from table to table taking orders with his phone going off. Even when other customers behind us made a remark to him about it. It was during lunch time and he made a remark about us drinking a margarita "in the middle of the day". My husband works graveyard shift so lunch is pretty much his midnight. He usually never drinks anyway this was a very rare occasion.
When my children both ordered ice cream he brought my son sopapillas. When my 9 year old son said politely I ordered ice cream he said no you didn't. My son said yes I did then the man said I'll bring you ice cream "no problem" even though you didn't. It took us forever to get my sons Sprite refilled and when he finally did it wasn't Sprite it was Coke. My husbands tea was never refilled. It wasn't busy only a few tables were filled so he shouldn't have had a problem. We didn't fuss about any of it. Paid the full price of my two enchiladas and no sides even tipped because we try and be good customers and left.
We are regulars and go at least two times or more a month. If he is there next time we go we will ask to be moved out of his section.
Edit: We went again and he was there and we moved into another section with my big party. I overheard from other tables he was giving people the wrong orders. Gladly our waitress was amazing and we have since gone back again and haven't seen the other waiter there. I love this place so I am glad I didn't have to avoid it.
Great...
Read moreUpdate: Apparently they just respond to the reviews on Google so they can pretend to care for their customers because I have emailed them and have not heard back anything. On The Border is a joke of a company. Corporate might want to talk to their store managers about how they talk to there customers. Don't bother sending messages to on the border corporate either because they do not respond to their customers. I stopped by Sunday to pick up an order I had placed online and got home and half my order was missing. I didn't think to double check it. So I turn around and go back up to the restaurant and wait at the to go counter because no one is there. Finally a worker comes up and ask me if I need help. I tell her that I am missing some of my food and show her the different receipts I was handed. She looks at them and says she is confused and needs to get a manager. The female manager comes out and looks at the receipts and says she is confused too. She tells me that I will only be charged half price and that they will make the order I am missing. I ask her how long it will take and she tells me 6 to 7 minutes. I tell her that I don't want to wait because I waited 40 minutes already and she says to me and I quote "I didn't realize you were going to bitc# about it" I told her that I wasn't gripping I just don't want to wait because I have already waited. I had food setting at the house getting cold. I have contacted On The Borders corporate office twice about this with no response. I want everyone who reads the reviews to know how the Store Managers treat paying customers. To top ot all off I still paid full price after the manager told me that I was only going to...
