We went to the Tokyo Seafood and Steakhouse restaurant for lunch to celebrate a special occasion.
Parking, entry, and restrooms are fully wheelchair handicapped accessible! The common table at the grill is also wheelchair accessible.
We were seated at a table with a grill in the center with two other couples who were returning customers. Both couples were very positive about the food and service and recommended their favorites from the menu. They had already ordered before we were seated.
I chose the chicken and shrimp and my husband chose the steak and shrimp. The chef came with the food and immediately put something on the grill that flamed high! I was unprepared and startled because I was distracted talking with our lunch partners. It was quite a great way to start the cooking presentation! It made me pay attention and save the conversation for later!
A couple of eggs to go with the fried rice started the show, followed by a large pile of mixed vegetables, and finally the meat choices (scallops, steaks, chicken, and shrimp). It was very entertaining to watch how the chef managed all the food items to perfection! We were each served generous portions perfectly cooked and presented on our plates.
We ate and visited with our table companions. During our meal one of our companions received a phone call that seriously dampened their lunch and they took their food to-go and left. We understood, but were disappointed because one of the best things about sitting with strangers is that they aren't strangers when we all leave.
When my husband went to pay our check he was told the couple that left had paid for everyone's meals. It was completely unexpected, leaving us quite surprised. We surmised they did that because they thought leaving in a dampened mood was rude and unfriendly. It was completely unnecessary because we understood, without knowing the reason or content of the call, that sometimes circumstances change and situations need to be handled immediately.
We hope they know that their unexpected and unnecessary kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated. We hope they will receive such a kindness in the near future.
Other tables had families of varying ages including young children who appeared to be completely entertained by the show of preparing, cooking, and presentation of their meals.
We were very satisfied with our experience and will be returning...
Read moreIf you have never been to a Japanese style steakhouse, I would highly recommend the experience, and the one I would clearly recommend is Tokyo Seafood & Steakhouse off of I-20 and Main St in Weatherford. It is not an inexpensive endeavor, but the entertainment value from a good chef is as valuable as the meal itself.
The food is served in the traditional courses: soup, salad, rice, meats and finally your veggies. I have included shots of each course as they arrived from my steak and scallop order, including a few shots of the artistry that goes into cooking the food while you watch.
I cannot compliment the food here enough. I have been eating here for years and they have some of the freshest sushi (ranging from $5-15/roll), excellent main dishes and some of the best fried rice i have had. However, what makes this restaurant stand out is their level of service. We encountered some of the most polite staff that I have ever seen. Our main server was Ryan, and every answer was either, "Yes, sir.", "Right away, sir.", or "My pleasure, sir." Drinks were refilled before we even knew they were low and at every course change he asked how it was and if we required anything else when he cleared the table for the next round. Other servers, who did not currently have a table would also check on our status while Ryan was tending to our orders. One young woman even mistook my son because of his long hair and referred to him as 'madame'. When she left, he turned to me and said, "You know, I am not even slightly offended by that since she was so polite about it. Hard to get upset when she's that nice."
Over all the experience was great. Excellent food, good conversation with our table and wonderful service. It was the perfect way to cap off a long week of work and it is something I am looking forward to...
Read moreOkie dokie! So I'm a very big regular for this hibatchi restaurant and I love them, but today my friend called about super bowl and with out an answer was hung up on, then called again and asked about the super bowl again and they said no we do not play super bowl here (with a terrible attitude) so later we are at another hibatchi place and they were closed and we decided to go to here and I called to get take out and as soon as I asked for take out I was declined service due to them fixing to close and it wasn't even 9:30 yet it was at least 8:00 and so I questioned it and she said they haven't been busy so they were closing early but I'm a customer they are refusing. So I just gave up then my friend called to talk to their manager about their service and the manager was accepting his service then gave the phone to the hostess for her to decline his service and she wouldn't let him talk to the manager so he told her how bad of a hostess she was and hung up. So I called to see if anything changed and she refused my service again and I asked to talk to the manager and she refused to let me talk to the manager as well and I'm sitting here hangry to no end and I cannot stand bad service in general. This hostess literally could have taken my order by the first time I called and had me taken care of or just given me to the manager like I asked she just didn't want to do her job. She was being lazy rude and unreasonable. Especially when my service was rejected and my friends service was accepted. I do not recommend u going here any more. I will not be coming here due to...
