staying at fox den for a few more days and have enjoyed our stay here. sites are gravel and have a few trees in between sites that provide nice shade almost all day. bathrooms are clean, entire campground is well kept and there is a laundry room with several washers and dryers (i believe 1.25 per wash and .25 per round of drying. i was confused at first to the location of trash dumpster, there is a blue one out back but that was locked and apparently dosent belong to campground. the trash is a black trailer out by the check in building with "trash" painted on each door, not sure how i missed that. i saw negative reviews talking about small sites, i'm not sure what they were talking about. each pull through site looks about 20ft wide (or larger), some back in sites may be a tiny bit narrower but unless you are trying to squeeze in a trailer with large slideouts on each side, then maybe get a site that fits your rig. there is another campground about 2 blocks east and that one has really small sites, maybe about 3 feet to spare on each side of your trailer. being on the edge of town it is still a short walk to the downtown shops. wifi also works well. the price is reasonable for sites and i dont think you will be disappointed.

We’ve been on the road for 62 days and this is absolutely the worst RV campground that we’re stayed at. We had a 10 day reservation and ended up staying 2 nights. Someone turned our power off both nights while we were sleeping and we woke up freezing. This place is a gravel parking lot. When we arrived they put us in a different spot than the one we thought we reserved. We were worried about our slide out fitting between 2 trees. They said they couldn’t move us because they were full. That night, I saw a tent camping in one of the rv spots. Our view from the window was of an old dilapidated rv that one of the workers lived in. 2 tents were immediately behind us. They were cooking behind their tents which was basically in our camp site. We asked to be moved twice and were told no and we asked for a refund for the remaining 8 nights but were told no. It was so bad we left losing over $600. Hard to walk away from, but we’ve been so fortunate with all of the other places that we’ve stayed, we weren’t going to settle for this place. They charge over $100 a night for what should cost $20 a night. Stay clear! Grizzly RV Campground is incredible for the same price.

We chose fox den because they were the only place with easy online booking and had a site open during the time we wanted to stay. We arrived a couple days early without notice and the staff went above and beyond in accommodating us. Very friendly and helpful. Great internet signal. I like how this park is the last one at the end of a road, so it feels more private than the other ones around. There are great walking trails through the woods nearby. The whole town is only a 10 min walk from the park. On labor day Monday the staff cooked everyone in the park a wonderful breakfast (fresh eggs, thick bacon, sausage, and pancakes) with coffee and juice. What a nice surprise! They said they always do something special for the guests on a holiday. It is a small and basic park with bathrooms, showers and laundry. Back in sites are a little small and close together. If you have a really big rig, I suggest getting a pull through. There is also tent camping available.

This campground seemed promising at the start when I called to ask if I could have a tent setup outside of my camper while I was there. I was told by the lady on the phone that it would be no problem and to put it in the special accommodations block when I booked online. I went a head and booked online months in advance to secure my spot and added in the special accommodations block that I would have a tent outside my camper as I was instructed to over the phone. Fast forward to the trip and I showed up the campground around 6pm. I saw my name on a map hung on the door of the office, however, the office was locked. I took the map and set up my camper in the designed spot along with the tent outside of my camper. I go back 40 minutes later to the front office to see if anyone was there to no avail. I called the number on the door and got no answer so I went about my night thinking I was checked in because I made the reservation online and they left a map with my name on it for me when I arrived. The next day I was in Yellowstone when I got a voicemail from the one of the owners saying that I needed to take my tent down. I called back and spoke with a woman who told me that I need to take my tent down and that I was never told over the phone that it was okay to have a tent beside my camper. I tried to explain what was said over the phone months ago and I kept getting the same answer of we know the rules and we would have never told you that. After some time on hold I was told I can speak to the owner and in the background I could hear the owner say "He knows the rules and if he doesn't like it he can pack up and leave." In the end I purchased a tent spot because I was forced to take the tent down at the site with my camper. As I returned the campground my family was met by the enraged guy with a mullet screaming at us for not checking in the day before when we arrived. I explained that the office was closed and I called the number to which no one answered. He said he had his phone on him the whole time, I should have called, and that I showed up too late to check in on time. I told him I most definitely showed up on time, I did call the phone number on the door, and showed him my call log of the exact time I called at 6:40pm. When showed the call log he said that he didn't care and that he almost had my camper towed (which had my dog in it). After this absurd altercation he requested I come to the office to check in at which point he told me that a child had run through my campsite and got seriously hurt to the point he had to be taken to the hospital. I was told that the the father of the child took down my plate number and the owner of the park would send him my way if the police were to get involved. I checked in, told him we would figure the sleeping arrangements out and that I didn't want the tent site anymore. The principle of telling me over the phone that I could have a tent beside my camper and then calling me a liar when I do so is absolutely absurd. I also think that this owner guy with the mullet should NEVER be allowed to interact with guests because of his short fuse, foul language, and willingness to start an altercation without speaking to the paying customer first. I would never in a million years recommend this campground to anyone while this gentleman is employed there. I never heard anything about the "kid that went to the hospital" and even if i had it says in their rules to not let your kids run through other campers sites. Overall, this was by far the worst camping experience I have ever had and the only way I see them getting any business at all is their proximity to...

Aug 6th - Yellowstone Sherrif returned my call and advised they are happy that I have warned them and the community about this business and they/re bad behaviour. They also said they were so sorry that this business created such a bad experience for us in our first visit to the Yellowstone area and wish we to come back and just choose another place when we do. They have advised me to seek legal advice locally, which I am doing.

He did not like it when i challenged his behaviour...

Beware DO NOT stay here and I’ll be happy to tell you why !! We booked our site over 3 months ago for 2 nights and were given our site number that would accommodate our trailer BUT when we arrived at 12:56 pm (check-in is at 2 pm) another RV was in our reserved site, so we thought maybe they just hadn’t checked out yet. We went to check-in and were told that they had arrived about an hour ago and they had given them our reserved site so, they would just give us a different one. So they gave us the site number and it was so narrow that we could not even open our slides! So, again we went to the office and they gave us another site this one was so short that our camper was sticking out in the middle of the roadway preventing any thru traffic from going by. Again, we went and let them know that that one wouldn’t work either. Now they tell us they have one that’s reserved the next night for another RV but that we can have it. WHAT?? Are you kidding me?!?!! So then we would be doing to that RV what we just had done to us. Absolutely NOT!! Now the real kicker to this story… is they refused to give our money back for the reservation that we had made and paid for over 3 months ago and they are the one that gave our reserved spot away!! And he was not losing any money, in fact he doubled his money because he collected from 2 people for 2 nights for the same site !! Yes, we checked the next night and the same RV was still there. So do yourself a favor and DO NOT waste your time making a reservation for this SCAM of a campground. Interesting enough if you read some of the other low reviews you’ll see that it seems he’s making a habit of charging twice for the same site and refusing to give back any money ever !! Unless of course one reviewer threatened to do legal action and he did give theirs back but wanted them to remove their post. Absolutely the most disgusting customer service I’ve...
