I never had a chance to stay here, but wanted to write a review because of a shockingly horrible reservation process. We reserved on agoba.com and all seemed fine. Then there was an email at 1:30am that we would be switched to a different room halfway through the stay unless we responded by 10am (with a reply link that expires). We missed that deadline as the reserver was working in the ER and tried to get a phone number from Agoba to call and sort it out, but the number they had was to a transportation company in Bozeman. I left a message but received no response. Then the reserver got an email that the credit card was declined even though there is no issue with the card. We put in a different card on the Agoda site but there is no way to double check the address on agoba to see if maybe the zipcode they were using was wrong. The second card was also declined though it is a fine working card with plenty of credit. The lodge did reply on the moving rooms issue through Agoda and we asked if they could do the card over the phone so we could figure out what was the issue with the credit cards but no response. We put in a third credit card - also denied so the issue was likely with the zip code possibly being put in wrong when we originally reserved, but they would not speak to us to try to fix it. We were both trying to get through to the phone number they gave us but the extension given was not working. Finally I got through and the person answered. He did not answer as though he were answering a business phone (did not say name of lodge). When I said I was trying to pay for a reservation he asked if it was the name of the person who booked and when I replied yes he said “why won’t you people leave us alone? We are not interested in fraudulent reservations.” When I politely said “sir, I can assure you we are not trying to make a fraudulent reservation.” He said “get lost!” And hung up on me. After traveling to 45 countries and all over the United States this is the most difficult time I have ever had making a reservation and have I ever been treated this way by any accommodation provider. I was actually quite shocked by the phone interaction. ||||We reported the incident to Agoba who told us they were sorry this happened but the reservation is non-refundable and still marked as booked. We have no idea if any of our cards went/will go through on this reservation for which the owner has clearly told us we are not welcome and Agoba’s only suggestion was to call again in the morning. I think that is a pretty unbelievable expectation given how we were spoken to. ||||Yellowstone is a tough place to get a reservation so I understand this place will get business regardless, but it is really unfortunate that people treat others with such disrespect simply because they can. And I would recommend using a site other than Agoba. Their portal is much less sophisticated than others, their customer service is not at all helpful, and if you have an issue they apparently have no power to help you...
Read moreThis place is listed on Airbnb in West Yellowstone The good: hot water for showers, taps Kitchen has quite a few amenities including cling wrap, oven, microwave etc The bad: Structurally, the walls are paper thin, we can hear details of every conversation around us, you can hear people opening and closing car doors when they come back at night/leave in the morning, even 2 units down Beware! They have lots of rules that are not listed as additional rules in the Airbnb listing. This includes you are not allowed to switch on the TV or shower from 10pm-7am! When we came, sunset in Yellowstone was 9.30pm. So you effectively have a curfew because if you want to end your day with a shower, you have to be back before 10pm. Given speed limits in the park at 45mph and delays due to bison jams etc it really puts a huge restriction on the time you have to come home The host said in his messages that it was not our fault and it was a request to shower before 10pm. But the host actually reported us to Airbnb when we showered at 10.30pm! Luckily, we managed to explain to Airbnb that this additional rule was not explicitly mentioned on the listing. We tried our best to shower as early as possible and then he reported us! First time we’ve ever been reported to Airbnb. We are very compliant users but throwing a shower curfew as an additional rule after guests have moved in is not responsible behaviour for a operating business. When you rent the room as a private space including the private bathroom, it doesn’t seem reasonable to restrict usage hours unless it is expressly indicated prior to booking Many prior reviews have a common consensus that thin walls are a flaw of this property. Instead of trying to provide some compensation or a soundproofing solution, the host reports their guest for not following a rule that is not transparent. We never agreed to this rule. The rule is essentially is a penalty on the guest due to a flaw intrinsic to the property. Shower door is broken, cannot close properly and leaks water out Baseboard heater is small and inefficient, we came late Spring (end may) and it takes a solid 2-3 hours before it’s warm enough inside to take your jackets off. We requested for a portable heater but they do not have one Parking at your door is very tight, lots of difficulty shifting out in the morning unless you park a distance away from your unit (have to carry things in)
All in all, we do not recommend this place. It may be affordable relative to the other properties nearby but I’ll let you decide if it’s worth the time and effort going back and forth with Airbnb Support on your holiday, after a long, hard drive up to...
Read moreI booked a room at the motel in advance of our stay and received a confirmation email. The day of our motel stay we were in Yellowstone Park without cell phone reception. We arrived at the motel at 10:15 PM to check in. The office was closed, so I called, texted and emailed them and did not receive an answer/reply. I then had to call around at 10:30 PM to try to find a room for four people to stay that night! (Luckily the Brandin’ Iron was able to provide us a room!) The next day I received an email from the motel that we were required to check in by 10 PM, and since we had arrived at 10:15 PM, they would not refund our $473. (I opened a dispute with my credit card company and they refunded the $473 as we had not received any services from the motel, and the motel didn’t respond to their dispute inquiry.) We went to the motel the next morning to talk to someone in the office, but the office was still closed, and no one answered the phone. Based on my experience and others’ experiences too (see other reviews), it appears this motel intentionally makes it difficult to communicate with them and challenging to check in so that they take money from unsuspecting tourists and not have to offer any kind of service for their non-refundable rooms. Another thing to note is the motel is in sketchy area; there are several mobile homes on the property. When we were at the motel at 10:15 PM, there with people standing outside the mobile homes with other people approaching them - it looked like they were...
