We stayed a couple of nights at the Wagon Wheel. Rooms were spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and basic furnishings. Decor seems a bit mismatched, but it works well enough. There were just enough electrical outlets in the room, but we did have to unplug a lamp and the coffee maker to have enough outlets to charge our cameras, phones, etc.
The rooms provided all the basic amenities and included name-brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The tissues, toilet paper and hand soaps were all generic and generally lower-end. The bath towels were super thick and very luxurious.
Breakfast was basic with breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, and several types of breads options. The same items were offered each day, no variety. Breakfast is not as good as some of the chain hotels, but better than some others that only offer the basic continental breakfasts.
Most of the staff was friendly and they seemed to legitimately care that the guests were enjoying their stay. There were some maintenance issues with the property including the main entrance doors being broken, with one missing it's handle and an elevator that is loud enough that the hotel asks you to use the stairs between 10 PM and 7 AM.
Not a bad place to stay, but I did expect a bit more for the...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Wagon Wheel Hotel in West Yellowstone for two nights, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease.
Firstly, the location is fantastic, just a few minutes’ drive from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, making it incredibly convenient for our daily adventures. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, adding to the convenience.
The room was clean and well-maintained, with a cozy decor that made it feel like home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring I had a great night’s sleep every night. The room was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including free Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and a microwave.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They quickly checked us in and provided us with many useful tips for planning our visits to the park. The breakfast was plentiful, with delicious coffee and a variety of fresh foods that gave us the energy we needed for our day.
Overall, the Wagon Wheel Hotel provided a warm and comfortable home base that made our trip to Yellowstone even more enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Yellowstone...
Read moreWe stayed in a vacation room, so I can’t speak for the overall hotel itself, but do NOT stay in the blue jay!! The sign directly outside of the window flashes brightly all night through the windows, so if you have epilepsy, STAY AWAY (I’m not even kidding)!! We asked if they had curtains or something we could do about it and they said “uhhhh… you could go and ask them to turn it off” ???? Just put curtains on your windows lmfao (btw, when we asked the business next door if they could turn it off because the front desk made us take care of it, they said they’d turn it off and never did). We were all unable to sleep because of the intense flashing lights. The room itself had unfinished, rough, dirty, wood flooring, hard beds, and so much furniture squished into the room that you could hardly move around. The looooove advertising this hotel as brand new, but our unit was old, dirty, and the paint was wack. Not anywhere close to as nice as they advertise online. Breakfast is lackluster and low quality. The juice went out while we were eating and they gave us attitude when we brought it up, all the hot food was gone, and the bread was stale.
Giving an extra star for the water...
