I guess I expected a completely different place from the other reviews. I agree that the staff are friendly and they do what they can to fix any problems you may have, this is the only reason I gave any stars.... Otherwise just know you get what you pay for here. It is very convenient to be right on the boardwalk but that also means a lot of people coming and going at all times. The majority of the people that seem to stay here are the type that dont care for others property or if they are disturbing other guests. From the time we arrived music was being blasted from the patio where a large group stayed and took over. They were out til 3am being loud and arguing with no one telling them to quiet down. The kids that were with them were left to roam the whole place freely. We went to go in the pool and it was absolutely disgusting. The pool does not have a kiddie area and quickly slopes from 4 feet. The first room we were in the air-conditioning was broken, the refrigerator did not get cold and the room had not been restocked by housekeeping. Management did give us missing items and then we eventually moved to another room once we realized it wasnt getting any cooler. They did replace the A/C the next day. Our second room was better since AC worked and so did all of our locks. We also didn't need toiletries unlike the first. There was however a broken drawer, the leg on the table was completely snapped off and propped up under it, the refrigerator froze everything in it even though it was on low and lastly the towel rack fell off of the wall whenever we tried to put a towel on it. I'm normally not a bad review leaver but this stuff needs to be known before you decide to go cheap. I know this isnt the worst place to stay in the area but its not somewhere we will stay again. P.S. minimal parking, no elevator and no lost and found. (We checked out and forgot something, I called back the same day and was told they threw it out. I'm understanding of things being left behind and people dont come back but this was sentimental and I just wish they at least had a 1 day hold for items...
Read moreChecked in on Monday. Like all hospitality businesses they are under staffed. So we needed to wait a while till the rooms were ready. We met the two ladies working to get our rooms ready. Couldn't be nicer. They were through, and needed to ready what looked to be 20+ rooms. I suggest you be patient, if you can't then go home. We waited by going to get some lunch and a walk. Our room was clean, clean linens and towels. We brought our own pillows and blankets. If you can't figure that out from the reading the other reviews then go home. Our room had 2 double beds very firm mattresses so if that's a problem bring a pad. I've read enough reviews to know what I'm getting and don't act so surprised.
We parked in a single spot and they do have additional parking up the street. So stop whining about the parking.
Simone the manager was very nice and we chatted for a while. COVID decimated this town and it these places are trying to get back to making a profit. So tip your housekeepers. There are 2 of them so leave 10 a night. If You're from Jersey then you tip hard. If you're cheap then shame on you.
You stay here because it's convenient, clean and you like being around people. The partiers, crowds and noise are all part of it's charm. You don't come here to get rest, calm and solitude. If you want that then you're in the wrong state. If you grew up in Nj like I did we'll share but we won't shed a tear if you leave unhappy.
We love this place. The inconveniences are all easily overcome. We book early in the year so we get great prices $141 a night. $500 less than if we booked now in July ($635 vs close to $1300 w/taxes & fees) for the same 4 nights Mon-Fri. I've read the reviews on all the major sites for the place. Most seem to be from those who are unable to manage their own expectations. They see problems I see it opportunities. We will be back again in the fall and again next summer. We really love it here, and you can too if...
Read moreThe location is excellent, but the service and hygiene standards are aligned with those of a third world country. Parking was severely limited to the point one could be easily boxed-in and there were no other convenient/legally viable parking options available. Room was dusty and moldy. The bed sheets were stained. We also found sand and hair dispersed throughout both beds. Told the manager the following morning (discovered too late to tell him the night prior), who then insisted they were clean and claimed the “environment” made the sheets sandy. I asked for the sheets to be changed; he said he would comply but never did so. Our concerns were met only with sorry excuses. I am astounded that this business is operational.
Additionally, my friend and I both tested positive for COVID-19 after our trip. We both slept in the same, sandy bed on different nights and interacted with the same 17+ people throughout our three night stay, none of whom tested positive. I realize there is no way to prove we were afflicted through this hotel, but considering we were the only people to get sick across this weekend and we shared a bed, that was never cleaned, suggests that said bed was more than likely a significant factor in contracting...
