I payed for what I thought was a king bed in a basic motel room for me and my boyfriend. When we got there I was told they “upgraded” our room to what I guess they call a “mini suite” or something along those lines. I was immediately annoyed because this room was not what I wanted or would have payed the amount of money I payed for it. It was 2 full size (maybe queen, but they were really small and I fell off twice at night so I think they were full or standard) beds in a tiny separate room from the area with the couch (the couch was filthy underneath and the most uncomfortable pleather couch I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying to sit on). There was no curtain on the window in the room with the beds, and literally right outside that window was someone else’s balcony! I couldn’t believe that, we closed the blinds as much as possible and had to prop up pillows and blankets because I didn’t feel at all comfortable with it open like that. Someone could have walked right up and looked in no matter what else we did because there wasn’t a curtain and nothing but slat blinds. There wasn’t a single drawer or shelf to put clothes aside from a tiny rack with maybe 8 hangers on it, we had to use the second bed that we obviously were not using for all our stuff. The refrigerator was missing 2 shelves and didn’t work, it froze everything no matter the setting we used and it didn’t open correctly because it was missing a foot or something so it rocked. And when I moved it out to try and fix it, there were ants all over the place and it was disgusting behind and under it. The coffee maker had dirt and hair inside it, which wouldn’t have mattered anyway because there was a coffee machine but no coffee or filters anywhere so it was pretty much just for decoration I guess. The door frame to the room with the beds was even not installed straight so the door would barely close. We went to get ice because we couldn’t use the fridge and the ice bin from our room was sticky and visibly dirty so that just disgusted me and we gave up on the ice because I didn’t want to see what the ice machine looked like. The towels had what looked like blood stains on them and the one time anyone came to give us more towels or do anything it was the second day we were there, they knocked on the door at 9:30 am, we had just woke up and so obviously told them we didn’t want anything just then because we weren’t even awake or dressed yet and that was the only time anyone came so we had to reuse our towels and empty our own trash. We stayed here last year and it wasn’t nearly this bad, so needless to say we will not be returning. I didn’t have high expectations, it’s a motel by the boardwalk it’s not going to be fantastic. But I at least expected not to have to deal with ants, mold, and the stupidest motel room design I have ever seen. Not to mention they have all these strict noise regulations, yet the people next to us kept us up half the night the first 2 nights because they were playing music, banging things, and partying till 4am. All I wanted was a king bed in a somewhat clean hotel so my partner and I could have a nice vacation. Instead we had to squeeze into a tiny bed for 3 nights and put towels and blankets in front of the window so we could even change. I could have paid a lot less for a lot more at any of the other numerous motels on the boardwalk, which is what I will...
Read moreUpon check out at this hotel, the clerk never asked, “How was everything?” And, I knew why he didn’t …because it was a mess. First, you have to leave a $20.00 cash deposit for the key of which you get back upon check out. So, if you don’t have cash there’s an ATM machine with a surcharge in the tiny area that serves a lobby/front desk. The room was not worth what we paid ($130.00). The door had no chain for extra security. There was a coffee machine with no coffee provided. The clothes closet was a stand alone, brought separately and placed in the room with no hangers. The window air conditioner was coming apart even though it was operable. The window blinds had seven or eight slats missing from the bottom which meant the entire window was not covered. I put towels and clothes in the window to prevent being exposed. At night, going to the bathroom, I almost slipped on the tiled portion of the floor because it was wet. It rained that night causing the ceiling to drip in four places. I put down towels to soak up the excess water. The bathroom was tiny, and my son’s head (he’s 6’1”) touched the top of the ceiling while he was in the shower. Gnats were coming from the bathroom vent, so we had to make sure the bathroom door was closed. Gnats managed to make their way in the room anyway. Also, the shower hardware is rusted. The artificial plant in the room was not even afforded a nice pot, just the plastic cheap ones that come with the plants when purchased. Even the artificial plants around the pool are in plastic garbage cans instead of decorative pots. These are small changes that can be made that would make a big difference. The pool was decent with warm water, but it is the only redeeming quality of the hotel. I want others to beware of hotels such as this that boasts great reviews (a reviewer from north Jersey gave it such rave reviews that upon entering I thought I was at the wrong place) that don’t truly represent the actual hotel. This hotel needs refurbishing. Even if you’re staying only one night to rest and move on, do not stay here. You deserve better, even if it’s only...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this hotel. I honestly don't know how its even still in business. First, walking into the hotel smelled like someone was smoking a cigar all day, but there were "no smoking" signs. We get into the room and there were no security locks just a top and bottom to the door. I looked at the fridge and even though it was making noise it was on 9 and still not cold. I put already cold food in the fridge and it got warm. My girlfriend went to the front desk to let them know it wasn't working and said he would be up, so at this point they didn't know I existed. We locked both locks waiting for him, and he unlocked the doorknob and tried opening the door before realizing the top was locked too, then knocked. This was already suspicious for unlocking the door knowing there is one girl inside of the hotel room and they did not announce themselves at all. I open the door for him to seem surprised she was not alone just for him to tell me the fridge works but it would take time. We waited about a half hour before checking the warm food we wasted keeping in the broken fridge. I inspected the pillows on the bed and insides the pillow cases and outside were a bunch of hair. Then, I found stains and hair throughout the blanket and sheets. Looking at the walls looked like someone put cigarettes out all over and there was just a bad odor overall. We went back to the office at 10:30pm to find the office closed with a phone number, only to call a few times for no answer so we left a voicemail explaining we wouldn't be spending the night and are going to another hotel. We get a call at 10:45am telling us if we are not there by 11am we will not get a refund. We did make it back to the hotel, and got no explanation or apology. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. I felt like I was in a sleazy motel for people to have a one night stand. I honestly have no idea how they are still open! Please do not...
