Disappointed and confused. I chose this hotel because of the high ratings and newly renovation. Housekeeping was not good at all. I was in room 6. Coffee maker was covered in dust, hair on towels and countertop in bathroom. Perimeter of floors were dirty. The room also had tons of fruit flies. I asked for another room and was able to switch. Meanwhile, I noticed housekeeping did not look professional or clean themselves. Much of the place just seemed grimy. It did seem like there were new furnishings, but it looked cheap. It seemed like they masked a lot of things, then claimed the hotel was renovated. The second room (room 1) wasn't much better. However, there were no fruit flies. BUT there were three pincher bugs that I found and a couple of flies. Dried coffee drops were on the countertop and urine on the toilet. At this point, I was contemplating whether or not to sleep in my car because I was so grossed out. I even called a different hotel to switch but they had nothing open. The bathroom is extremely small. When you open the door it hits the sink, so you need to wiggle around to close the door. If you had small children you would not be able to go in with them. I really believe housekeeping has much to do with my negative review. I have been in other hotels in Wildwood where housekeeping is in a uniform and are out and about cleaning the area and the rooms are clean. Even the cleaning equipment I saw looked yucky. I also saw housekeeping smoking which didn't help they're professionalism. It just made the staff look more raggedy which transfers to the lack of cleanliness in the rooms. Yes it is right next to the boardwalk, but I would rather walk a block or two then stay there again. I really don't understand how previous guests rated five stars. It really...
Read moreStayed here with my family for 4 nights in one of the Pier Point Suites. Pros: Location - you are steps away from the boardwalk and beach, which is super helpful considering the beach itself is such a long walk to the water! It is definitely in the heart of the action, which we enjoyed. You do hear the amusement park rides, but once they shut down for the night it quiets down. Service - the staff is very helpful and responsive, and the texting option was a great way to communicate needs throughout your stay. A+ on that!!
Cons: 1) There was literally nowhere to hang a towel, not even a hand towel. Just felt like even a couple hooks on the back of the bathroom door would make a huge difference. It was frustrating trying to keep the clean towels clean before we could use them, as they would fall out of the wall cutout if you didn’t have it stuffed full. 2) There was black mold on the shower tiles/grout and also one of the ceiling tiles. 3) The air conditioner is only located in the room with the 2 queen beds, so if you want to close the bedroom door, the kitchenette and living room area gets hot. 4) Unfortunately the air conditioner in our room was also just coated in dust, like it hadn’t been cleaned in years.
I know this is a new venture for this location, and I feel like I would stay here again if the improvements and better cleaning could be made to the room. It looks like our issues may be isolated just to the type of room we reserved as well, so hopefully this feedback can improve someone else’s stay down the road. I wish them the best of luck, and just want to provide honest feedback to help...
Read moreMy wife and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Pier Point Hotel in Wildwood! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location couldn’t be better—right off the boardwalk and convention center, and just steps from the beach.
Our room was spotless, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the AC was ice cold, which made a huge difference on those hot summer days. The pool was another highlight—clean, refreshing, and clearly well-maintained, unlike other shore hotels we’ve stayed at where the pool is often overlooked.
The staff was super helpful and attentive throughout our stay, always ready with a smile and willing to go the extra mile. But the biggest game-changer for us was the keypad entry to the room. This feature is HUGE at the shore. No more worrying about losing a room key at the beach, no more passing around keycards if someone needed to head back—it took away all that stress and made everything so much more convenient.
Overall, Pier Point Hotel is a gem. We left relaxed, happy, and already talking about our next trip back....
