El Pilon Criollo Restaurant — Restaurant in Wildwood

Horrible place! Do not come here. It took five minutes for me to be acknowledged before my order was taken. I ordered a pernil sandwich, i wanted it without ketchup, tomato and cheese. I waited 15 minutes before they gave it to me. As i start walking to my car i checked it and it had ketchup and cheese. I go back and tell them i only want it with the meat, mayo and lettuce, i did NOT want ketchup, tomato or cheese. They make my sandwich over, i had to wait another 15 minutes for the new sandwich. i check my sandwich again and it still has cheese!! At that point i ask for my money back. I could tell the lady that runs that place had an attitude because they can’t follow simple directions. And to top it off she put my money on the counter when i gave it to her in her hand. They really shouldn’t be in business. Everyone there looked miserable, not hospitable at ALL!

When my family and I found out that there was authentic Latin food on the boardwalk, we couldn't have been more excited. So, we decided to go and have dinner and try it out. When we arrived, service was fast, and we were almost seated immediately. We are a family of five, with a 14-year-old, a 9-year-old, and a 7-year-old. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. I was really, really hoping that this place was going to be good. As a Latina from Philadelphia, I was so let down. We started off with tostones and queso frito, then for our entree's, I ordered the Pernil with arroz amarillo and habicuellas, and when I got my food, the Pernil was mostly fat and cold, and they probably gave me less than a cup of meat and a cup serving size of rice. My husband had 1 pork chop with a cup of rice, and all three kids had chicken, white rice, and beans. (all was a cup or less serving size), we all ordered passion fruit juices with no refills. And when we got the bill, I almost fell out of my seat. $217.00, no gratuity included. This is literally robbery. I probably would've sucked it up and given them another chance, but the fact that we paid that much for the amount of food that we got and the food wasn't even great means that I will never eat at this...

Porqueria! This place is a PORQUERIA! A piece of JUNK!! I was very excited to see what seem to be an authentic Spanish restaurant on the boardwalk and decided to try it. I ordered the Mofongo with Masitas de Cerdo.(Mofongo with Pork). What I got was smashed plantains (mangu) no way near what a mofongo is supposed to be and the plantains were RAW!! The Pork was all fat, no meat whatsoever and a tiny bit of salad. My check was $30.00. The server asked me if I wanted to pack it and take it with me and I said no and explained to her why. She literally ran away! I left them $35.00 on the table and left. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving the wrong dishes and undercooked food. They're fooling people by letting them think they're serving authentic dishes. It will probably take someone to get deathly sick from consuming undercooked food for this business to be closed for good! We visit Wildwood often and we'll never visit this place again.
