The people were amicable enough. However, I was quoted for $377-something, and I just checked my banking app; there's a pending charge for $477.22 That wasn't what I was told at check-in, and we were only in the room for about 10 hours. I understand the high price tag, since we didn't make prior reservations. I'm simply upset that I'm being charged a different price than I was actually told. Just double-check your charges, I guess (preferably before you leave). They really were nice, polite, and accommodating at the last minute though; I suppose it could possibly be an error, but I only just checked my account. The beds are a little on the smaller side, in my honest opinion. Not sure if they were supposed to be queen or full, but they seemed small either way (more obviously so if they were meant to be queen beds). There was a mini fridge, a microwave, TV and wifi. The only two things I noticed missing were a hairdryer (which wasn't too big of an issue for us anyway) and (more sadly) no Keurig; I really would've loved a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. Moving on, the tub/shower had good water pressure. The air conditioner admittedly worried me very briefly after first turning it on, as it smelled like something was burning. However, right as I turned it back off, it stopped smelling and began kicking out nice cold air. Then I turned it back on overnight, and it was fine the entire time. All-in-all, I'd say perhaps the place could use some cosmetic updating (like a new toilet seat), maybe some light maintenance (guessing maybe the a/c filter might need cleaned-?), and the couple of missing amenities (like the coffee). Otherwise, it was a perfectly acceptable stay. And the rooms and linens were relatively attractive. They also have an outdoor pool (careful though, the water seems to lay on the steps to the second floor). I can't speak to the state of it however, as we didn't even check in until after 11pm. And we left before checkout in the morning. It was closed while we were there. I especially thought it was considerate that they have chairs and an ashtray outside of the room, and I'm pretty sure they allow for pets. We don't smoke in the house at home anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered. I still think it's cool that it's provided though. I'm still angry with the kids' dad for not being a planner at all and making arrangements/reservations in advance though. It's sort of common knowledge that the prices go up the closer you get to the date of your stay, and you can't really get any closer to your stay than when you arrive there. To all you ladies out there dealing with this type of guy while you're stuck kissing his behind to take care of it, feel free to tell him that this chick writing a review on Google maps says he's being a moron. Lol. And have a good trip (hopefully better planned and longer than ours). P.S. I likely would've given a fourth star if my price hadn't changed. So like I said, just...

Pros: Location, location location. Walk to everything. Beach, Boards, Restaurants. Family Dollar for convenience. Newly renovated. King bed wasn't bad. Sheets were clean and soft. Fairly clean room (I wipe down everything and it was not dirty). Pool was very clean. Staff was nice. Free ice. Generally quiet hotel (a couple was arguing one night at 4 am but that is not the fault of the hotel. They cater to adults and families only, no partying here).
Cons: Parking is not good, awful actually. Very tight, more so than some other hotels we've been in over the last 30 years. You may end up on the street (at the hotel's direction, with your hangtag, next to the hotel sort of blocking the driveway). They have cones up everywhere telling you where you can't park, not sure why. You need to expect that to be a hassle. Room was clean but the floor was filthy. Pergo style flooring had definitely been vacuumed but after using a wipe on the floor we could see it was quite dirty and obviously not been properly cleaned in who knows how long. The A/C in our room was so loud and no way to direct the unit away from blowing right on us as we slept. Seems not every room has the same layout though. Unlike some photos here there was no shelf in our bathroom, so no place to put a thing other than the toilet tank lid. No towel bar either. I put everything they had out (tissues, extra toilet paper and basket of little toiletries, etc.) in the vanity to try and free up a little space. No space at all to put suitcases/bags. None, zero, nothing. We had to use the chairs from the tiny table in the room to put our bags on so we weren't living off the floor, which left no place to sit other than the bed. Also expect that to be an issue. I'd legit bring a small folding table or something. We didn't care since we were only there 2 nights but we did not have anyone come in our room to replenish towels. Pool did not seem to be heated, but was warm enough since the weather had been in the upper 80's. Very expensive. $500 a night. Found out there were 3 events in town so probably jacked up the pricing.
I'd stay here again for a short stay, after checking prices. For 5 days or more I'd be out of my mind without a place for bags, toiletries, and the parking debacle. Bring a small folding table, possibly wipes...
Read moreA bit overpriced in my opinion... but they are pretty newly renovated which is nice... the rooms are modern styled, beds are comfortable and appeared very clean... pool on site... parking is ridiculously tight behind the place so if you're planning a stay.. drive something compact... close to boardwalk.. they don't offer a private balcony so if you're hanging outside the room, you can be seen by all passers by which is kind of awkward if you're not looking to interact with strangers at midnight while you and your wife are having a drink after the kids are asleep.. staff was friendly and helpful.. 24 hour Rite Aid next door so anything you need, you can get ....way better than a vending machine... the view we had was terrible, it was of a boarded up motel across the street... which is not an uncommon site in Wildwood but still unfortunate considering the cost per room.. I think they need a handyman or maintenance person to check the rooms periodically since some of the new renovation work seemed to already be failing or was obviously done incorrectly...I noticed shelves not anchored securely enough, the light switch for the bathroom was on the outside of the bathroom instead of inside.. the plumbing work looked rushed and there were large openings around anywhere new copper pipe penetrated and they were not filled or covered with an escusheon... mirror was hung crooked in bathroom.. towel rack was not secured into wall anchors tight enough... it's all small stuff but as a trade worker myself... it stood out like a sore thumb. They should fix it all before charging what they do. Overall though, it served its purpose, was clean and safe for us on our spur of the moment stay... lots of other families staying at the same time.. this place is on the right track, they just have to bump it up a notch and they could easily become one of the better motels...
