We came here with a group of 5 off the highway looking for a quick bite to eat in Williams, AZ. We found this Thai restaurant and had a hard time finding their address and menu online. Apparently they just moved down the street and relocated in an American style diner. To help others, I've shared the picture of the building outside as well as the menu. In terms of ordering, it wasn't clear where to order. Eventually someone came by and offered us a menu. They were really sweet and actually from Thailand.
In terms of food, we got the pineapple fried rice (chicken, pork, and beef), regular fried rice, pad thai, spicy noodle, and onion rings. We were disappointed they didn't have any broad noodle dishes (pad ki mao, pad see ew) due to supply issues in the area. The portion size was larger than we expected. One entree could feed 1-2 people.
Our favorite food was the pineapple fried rice with beef. Our next favorite was the pad Thai. Our least favorite was the spicy noodle because it had picked up very little flavor and didn't come with enough vegetables.
We would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area if you temper your expectations. Coming from New York City, we have much more selection of restaurants and have higher...
Read moreAfter a day at Bearizona, my husband and I were looking for someplace that has Asian food, and this place looked unique and interesting and had great reviews, so we figured we'd give it a try.
We first ordered a lemonade and thai tea with boba. The lemonade was ehh... Country Time brand. The thai tea was fine, but the boba was not. It had a chemical taste to it and was not the typical kind of chewy.
Next came the appetizer, which was shumai. Do not order this. It seemed like the cheap frozen kind you would get at the asian grocery store. It was a hard and unevenly warm. They topped it with a lot of dried garlic for garnish that I had to scrape off. I only ate 1 piece. Waste of $6.99.
Finally, we got our noodle dishes- chicken noodle and transparent noodle. Transparent noodle was fine but it was mostly veggies. The chicken noodle was not as expected. It had a bit of a sour taste and the cabbage tasted "dirty," as my husband described it. It was such a disappointing experience, and for almost $50, we could have gone to a much nicer place. :/ The staff was at least friendly and the...
Read moreThe food surpassed my expectations for a Thai restaurant in Arizona. One of the servers was from the province next to where we last lived in Thailand. We had the yellow curry and red curry. Flavors were close to what we would expect in Thailand. Normally, I would order green curry, but the listed ingredients were not what I would expect in Thailand (though they are not unusual for green curry in the US.)
The decor was unique--in the style of a 1950's diner. Portions we larger--we got two meals out of it. Servers were friendly, but one of the servers was not Thai and could not answer some of my questions about the food, since some Thai dishes I only know the Thai names for, and I am not sure what the English names are describing.
My four star rating for the food is not because of the quality, but my disappointment in not having the kind of green curry I am used to (with round eggplant, pea eggplant, and kaffir...
