The absolute perfect location in Old Quarter. It is literally less than 5 mins walk from the main Hanoi action, bars, pubs, restaurants, walking street, coffee shops, you name it.
I have not seen such hospitality, politeness and helpful staff in my years of traveling. They are always available, by whatsapp or just walk downstairs. In fact on my last day I needed to get laundry done, I requested them at 7:30 PM and needed it back by 8 AM next morning as I had a flight to catch and they got it done and vacuum packed it for me.
The breakfast had slightly lesser vegetarian options, as the kitchen staff makes a few things on-demand, but can’t make anything without eggs. So you have to rely on the standard bread, cereals and fruits. It would be great for the chef to be able to make non-egg items but maybe they don’t get many vegan people.
One day there was a Karaoke going on in the lobby as it was the owner’s birthday. I just walked by to enjoy the music and the owner came and offered me a glass of wine.
If you are looking for a perfect place in the middle of Old Quarter vibrancy, near to vegetarian restaurants like Ram Krishna, easy to access from the main road (where the tour bus will drop you) - there cannot be a better place. And the front reception staff, they all speak English, help you with literally everything (from how to translate the language, where to get currency exchange for best rates, what to and not to do in Vietnam, the list is endless).
And the main manager who makes this all happen - HANG VU. She messaged me a few days before check-in with recommendations on where to go, book day trips, airport pick up, and was available via WhatsApp even on Sunday.
Thank you thank you thank you Hang Vu and your staff to make this an amazing Hanoi / Vietnam experience for me.

Read moreRude Staff, Poor Service, and Unhygienic Rooms Staff & Service: In my 15 years of traveling, this was by far the worst hospitality experience I’ve ever had. During our 10+ day stay in Vietnam, we stayed at four different properties, and this one was the most disappointing. The staff, especially a lady named Mai, was shockingly rude and displayed discriminatory behavior. She charged us 500,000 VND just for a small lipstick stain on a towel, claiming she needed to use “strong detergent” to clean it — something I’ve never heard from any hotel before. This wasn’t about the money, but about the lack of respect and poor treatment toward guests. Breakfast: I had clearly informed them in advance that we are vegetarian, and was assured there would be a good buffet breakfast. In reality, the options for vegetarians were limited to bread, jam, and fruit. When I asked the staff about it, they simply laughed, which was both unprofessional and humiliating. Room: We were given a very noisy room located just beside the spa and directly above the reception. Mornings were extremely loud. The room had dirty slippers, dusty lamps, a large cockroach in the bathroom late at night, and worn-out, stale-looking tiles. Overall, this property was a huge disappointment, both in service and facilities, and I would never recommend...
Read moreI experienced unacceptable treatment from the receptionist, who was both rude and racially insensitive. Without evidence, she confidently accused me of causing a stain on the blanket cover and a lipstick stain on a towel, specifically blaming ' Indian curry' from food. I provided proof that no food was consumed in the room. In over ten years of extensive travel throughout Southeast Asia, staying at 100+ hotels, I have never been falsely accused or charged for towel stains. We arrived late and trusted the hotel's cleanliness checks, so we did not inspect the room upon arrival ,before going out and returning only later in the night. Due to this experience, including the unfair charge and the receptionist's conduct, I cannot recommend this hotel. I am unfortunately certain the owner will...
