We booked this hotel for our family. We stayed at their “sister” property two doors down because they claimed there was an issue with our room. This is just another Hanoi hotel scam - if you book a two bedroom apartment, be aware that it simply does not exist.
They will text you the day of your reservation and claim there is a broken A/C, water leak, or another made up reason (check google reviews and you'll see this is also reported there - we unfortunately did not see that before booking). They will "offer" to switch your room to something similar (but not what you booked) and/or move you to their sister hotel. They will lie to you directly and pretend not to understand why you don't think it's the same thing when it is clearly different.
In our case, they contacted us in the late afternoon of the first night we booked as they knew we were traveling to reach them and could not do much about it. As you'll see from other reviews where this happened, this is a classic move on their part. They eventually admitted the room as advertised does not exist.
Also note that the price they're quoting for an airport transfer is 2x what you'll pay via Grab (or another hotel will book for you directly, as I found out once we got a better, more honest hotel). They are intentionally misleading people and they are still advertising the 2bdr apt which they admitted doesn't exist “since their renovations”. We couldn’t see any recent renovations having been done!
There were other smaller issues but they pale in comparison to the fact they're intentionally lying to people who book their rooms and moving them around with made-up stories about the actual situation. I would not recommend this place to anyone - no one should treat their customer this way and continue to be in business (in fact, they've changed their name recently and I wonder if...
Read moreI actually booked my stay at Hanoi Center Silk Charming Hotel but at arrival I got told the AC needs to be fixed and they will move me in the sister hotel called Center Silk Boutique Hotel. The staff is very funny and friendly. The room I then got was similar, to what I booked in their other hotel. You can tell the furniture is a view years old but the room looked rather clean. I stayed for only 2 nights and during my second night, I had a little mouse that woke me up, eating on the snacks from the mini bar. When I turned the light on, I saw it running under the bed. I kept calm and didn't do anything at 2 am in the morning. The next morning I then checked and found the bite marks, as well as mouse poo on the furniture which means it's not just in there for one night. I checked out and asked what can be done, the staff called the manager and all he said is he can give me 50 % off my taxi to the airport 😀 which I found a bit of a joke. I didn't complain about moving hotel at all and I also didn't make a big fuzz about the mouse in the room, but the manager surely could've been a bit more nice. First I didn't want to write a review and mention about the mouse, but the reaction of the manger has...
Read moreThe hotel is great! Rooms are very nice, location is perfect but above all the staff is exceptionally good.
We booked a transfer via this hotel which turns out to be horrific. The hotel booked the transfer via a company called Huong Kien. It was supposed to be a limousine bus who should pick us up at the hotel in Pu Luong and dropped us at Silk Boutique Hanoi. In the end, the bus was to late and completely full. No seats available, no room for our luggage and no hotel drop off. Also the driver drove like he lost his mind almost hitting people on the street. We are in Vietnam for a couple of weeks so used to the chaotic traffic but this was insane.
The staff in the hotel did everything to solve the issue for us and to make sure our stay in the hotel was as comfortable as possible. Really great!
So, in the end this hotel is really awesome just make sure that if you book a transfer via them it is not with Huong Kien because that company should be avoided...
