Hanoi City Gate Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

The room is very comfortable, it is clean and very good for the price that you are paying. It is very affordable and very clean, compared to other cheap hotels around the area. The toilet is also well maintained. The AC works well and I slept very good in this hotel. The service is impeccable, they offer tours and can arrange everything for you- from pickup service, shuttle buses between different cities, and tours as well even after your stay.

It is also not true that the hotel is loud despite being in the center. I barely heard a noise. The location is really really good as you are in old town and walking distance to shops and restaurants. There is ATM right next to the hotel also.

The receptionist Julie was the best; she arranged everything for me even though I am already not checked in their hotel. She helped me book a great cruise, great tours to Ninh Binh as well as look for shuttle services between ninh binh and ha long. She also kept keeping in touch with me the entire time. That service was above and beyong and I am more than grateful for her service.

Husband and I stayed in this hotel. And on the 2nd day we found out that there was missing money (worth 170 USD). We were angry and disappointed, as we knew there is something strange going on.||||On the 3rd day while we were having a breakfast, we heard these two guys from Europe talking to the receptionist about MISSING MONEY, so we step in and also told them that we are missing money as well. ||||The reaction and behavior of the receptionist was disappointing, as instead of him being sympathetic and report this to the higher management, he is blaming us for maybe not locking the door or taking the money with us everywhere, also he scream louder than us speaking English that we can’t understand. ||||Imagine, two rooms with missing money, on the same day? There must be something going on inside this hotel. ||||We checked out unsettled and without the higher management knowing it. ||||BE CAREFUL! CHOOSE YOUR...

We booked 3 nights on 2 separate bookings but needed to change hotel. The guy at the reception was really nice and agreed to cancel 2 of the nights for us even though we asked for this the very last minute.

There were some issues doing this with the app so the guy told us to wait for the next morning. Someone else was working then, a lady, and she really went out of her way to help us with the cancellation even though they might suffer penalty on the app for doing so. They didn’t have to do it since we missed the cancellation deadline and it was within policy to keep the booking.

I don’t agree with the other reviews. There were miscommunications because of the language barrier but the people that I’ve met that run this hotel were really nice and helpful. The location and price are excellent and the rooms are...
