Would give 0 stars if I could, stupidly booked at Hoang Cuong Hotel without reading the reviews (check google reviews more accurate than TA for this place). To start off it's pretty over priced for what you get but that's pretty common in Hanoi. We booked mainly for the location and free breakfast but while we were downstairs having breakfast someone (staff I assume as the room was locked) went into our room and took 400,000vnd, might not be a lot to some people but that's not the point. Thought leaving things in a locked room when we weren't even leaving the premises would be safe but apparently not, looking at the reviews we aren't the first this has happened to. Also weirdly the staff asked for our room key so they could clean the room which we've never experienced before but this was after we had breakfast (when the money was taken) so it was probably to make us think they only had our key to enter the room or so they wouldn't be disturbed while going through our stuff. They do have a second key to enter the room though because they entered without knocking while I was in there so I assume you give them the key so you can't catch them in the act of robbing you. On booking.com it doesn't clearly mention any fee for parking and when we were asked to pay 30,000vnd, this is the first time I've come across this in my time in Vietnam. We booked to stay for a week but left after being robbed and the receptionist had the cheek to ask us to pay for 3 nights to cover commission (maybe use the money you stole to cover that cost ;)) just wanted to relax on our last week on Vietnam after spending 2 months here and this place totally ruined it. Also rooms are very basic and the bed is hard and uncomfortable. You can definitely find better for this...
Read moreI can't rate the quality of this hotel because my reservation was canceled a couple of hours before arriving in Hanoi. I received a message that there is an electrical problem at the hotel. I doubt the veracity of these words because many tourists have come to Hanoi these days and hotels have raised their prices a lot. The price of a room in this hotel rose from 399,000 dong to 470,000. It was important for the hotel not to miss out on benefits. I had to book a more expensive hotel because hotels raised their prices for the weekend. Therefore, when booking this hotel there is a chance of being refused...
Read moreVery good hotel for an affordable price. Location is super good, most things are reachable by walking. Friendly people. Room has a fridge with drinks, ac is quiet and overall spacious. One negative thing was that the top of our closet was very dirty. I guess the cleaning people can't reach or see it but as a taller guy it was not...
