We came here after reading so many positive reviews on Google and other sites. I usually don't write negative reviews but felt it was necessary so others don't make the mistake we did by going out of their way to come here when in all honesty there are much better places to eat in and around Hoi An. We ordered the Chicken Rice (Com Ga) which came on the bone, the first time this has happened to us in 3 weeks of being in Vietnam. There was hardly any chicken on it resulting in just a large plate of rice. We had the rice pancakes (Bang Xeo) which were thick, soggy and greasy. Everywhere else we have ate these have been crispy and fresh. We did however let the restaurant know we were particularly unhappy with these and as a result we weren't charged for them which was kind of the owner but not really the result we were looking for. My husband ended up 2 doors down at a street vendor for 1/3rd of the price eating a much better meal as he was still hungry. I should add that the staff were friendly and apologetic but overall the food was...
Read moreI really recommend this restaurant, don't miss it! The best one we had in Vietnam and also one of the cheapest. We went here two times and also took there cooking class. A solid 5/5.
We had the fresh spring rolls with shrimp/chicken, sweet and sour with shrimp/chicken, chicken with vegetables and cashew nuts, papaya salad, garlic bread and morning glory. All dishes had a unike taste and were really good and I sincerely believe that whatever dish you choose it will be great.
Sweet and sour was different from most other sweet and sour we had had, this were more fresh. Try it! Morning glory was served with a lot of peanuts, yummi! Papaya with shrimps salad were full av peanuts and very filling.
Dishes are about 50K and they have very cheap fresh bear!
Cooking class is 150K per person plus the cost of the dishes in the menu. Really cheap and nice cooking class and definitely worth it! We were just two people and the cook. Pictures are from...
Read moreTook a cooking class here with my bf the other day and it was SO great!! Great food and experience. It was just us and Hein (our teacher), who was very sweet and answered any questions we had. She showed us how to chop and cook each item, but let us do most of the work. It was different than the other classes in town with market tours etc, not as hands on/informative, but it was just what we were looking for. Just go in a day before, say you'd like to set up a class, and select which dishes off the menu you'd like to cook (you pay for each dish) plus about $5 each. The amount of ppl you have dictates how many dishes you can make. For us, we picked 3 and shared each one. Just know that if you do a group, you all cook the same dishes. So it's personalized, but not individual. It ended up costing us less than $10 for a private course, set up right at the restaurant table....
