Beware NOT stroller friendly as it claims and NOT toddler friendly. Staff and manager had no compassion for families. I would give ZERO STARS IF I COULD! Read on for full experience.
Went on Saturday arpund 3pm. Paid for group of 5 (2 adults & 3 children), recieved a free infant entry for our toddler. Asked upon ticket purchase if the facility was stroller friendly, cashier says yes it was. We go to scan our tickets and another employee opens the gate to allow our stroller in, while we recieved our putts and golf balls. We see another stroller parked before the entry, we assumed, we should park our stroller there as that was what they meant by stroller friendly. We enter and see a steep stairwell. I recall feeling glad we left our stroller behind. I didn't think much and continued with our group of 6, hoping it would still work out.
As we started our FIRST hole, another group was let in right behind us and they tried to play with our 1st hole. I had to educate them that they had to wait until we were done. They apologized and waited. By second hole, that same group couldn't wait for us, so they skipped ahead. We felt we had to rush through the game to allow for the next group to go. Then my toddler became clingy and scared, he wanted to be carried. We finished our 2nd hole and advanced to our 3rd hole, to find ourselves waiting behind the group that came in after us. We waited, no problem. Thinking we'd have time to play before the next group came. Nope! The next group was standing behind us waiting too! We felt so rushed and crammed by the groups of people in such tight quarters, It did not make for a good experience on top how could this be stroller friendly with such large groups of people!
I had to carry my toddler on my hip the hole time (with sore back and feet) and I could not play without free hands.
By hole 3, I've given up and thought, instead of turning back for a refund and climbing those stairs, I would let my family finish their experience and I would address my concern and ask for a refund as we exit, thinking there wouldn't be any trouble, as I did not play due to me having to carry my kid while we left our stroller behind.
The whole time we were down there, we had to wait for each hole and so did the people behind us. It felt like chaos in the dungeons. The group that skipped us, totally left because of the wait times (i dont blame them).
Once we exited to the 18th final hole, we saw the elevator! I had no idea there was an elevator!
I explained my predicament to the staff. The two staff nembers could not make the call for a refund. The cashier called their manager and her tone and words implied we were trying to cheat the system as I "requested a refund after our game". A manager came down to chat with me after seceral minutes of waiting and my kids are complaining. Just to be told by the manager simply that because they ARE a stroller friendly location and I had NOT shared my concerns in the beginning, she could not offer me a refund. This whole time I was civil and polite. Im not one for confrontation or complaining. I could not understand how they could not have compassion for a mom of 4 kids with a clingy toddler and no stroller! At this point I had enough! I blew up in the managers face, justly, that her staff should be more informative! The disastrous experience and NO customer service was beyond me! To also point out, there were no directions given from any staff they had an elevator (though they clearly saw we had a stroller) nor any info to their VERY limited refund policy was clearly signaged. That manager could do nothing. What was her point of coming down to talk to me? Smh.
Literally threw away $11 to carry my toddler through a crammed basement.
Should have picked the Dino Mini putt instead.
Will never return to Wizards golf.
P.S. I finished my experience with a reeses funnel cake to make...
Read moreThis was a wonderful family time. The lights and set pieces were quite pretty and well made. Especially the rocks, crystals and dragons. Was very well run and not too expensive. Kind of an issue I had were the courses themselves. There's too many of them that are just "a circle, but with a thing in the middle," and you're often discouraged from engaging with that thing because aiming at it takes a little too much accuracy, and doesn't give you much of an advantage for doing so. For example, there's a hole with a giant spider in the center. Cool set piece! Although if you tried to putt through the spider as I believe they intend, your ball will more often than not hit one of the legs and bounce right back. And if you do make it through, you're not in that much better of a position than you would be if you just, say, shot around the spider entirely, and that's no fun! I could be overthinking this, it's not like you're supposed to play this super seriously or anything, but it does make it harder to recommend. Especially with three other minigolf courses in the immediate vicinity. Also I wish there were more animatronics. Don't let the huge cool dragon at the beginning that doubles as the 18th hole fool you, that's the only...
Read moreI've played at many mini putt places and never have I wanted to leave faster than playing here. The workers don't care, didn't even want to serve us initially, just stared at us when we walked up to the counter. Then told us there is "absolutely NO skipping ahead of people." There was a family of 4 in front of us 2 who (understandably) took longer to play a hole but they were holding up several groups with no one playing in front of them. We should have just skipped ahead since the employees don't actually enforce anything.
Near the end, there were a group of 4 small kids (literally all less than 6) who were RUNNING through the place, pushing people and just throwing their balls down beside you and hitting them during your round, cutting you off, etc. Why anyone would allow 4 little kids in without supervision is beyond me. Multiple people asked them nicely to play in order but obviously they're too small to follow directions 🤷♀️
Should have been cold and played at...
