The Roster — Restaurant in Bonneville

We come here at least twice a year and so we were in search of a new favorite burger place after our favorite had closed.

We thought that The Roaster was it. When we came last December they were kind and the food was good. We decided to go back today, but we won’t be back again.

The front of house employee was just finishing eating at a large table that was perfect to sit our whole family. Perfect, but he left a mess (no big deal, I can clean it). I walked over to the counter to ask this same front of house worker if it would be okay to borrow their cleaning supplies to clean the table. The boy didn’t even look up and tossed the cleaning supplies at me.

That is no way to handle a customer especially when I was nothing but kind. I didn’t make a fuss about cleaning his mess, I was okay to clean it, I could see that they only had one person in front of house and one in the back. I have worked in the restaurant business for 10+ years.

I would never toss cleaning supplies at a customer that was offering to clean up my own mess, when I was the person working the front of house.

We decided to take our business elsewhere and we had amazing service and really superb burgers at La Maison des Burgers. A local place with local owners. If you are in search of good food with owners that care about their customers, I highly recommend La Maison...

Ate here for lunch because it looked funky and the menu sounded very tasty. Unfortunate the look of this place was the only good thing. The avocado burger was gross. The avocado was essentially guacamole, there was tons of it which usually I’d like but it was bland and made the burger all wet and sloppy. The bread was a very crumbly brioche which disintegrated with the guacamole. The standard fries had basil and ginger on and were horrible - think little chef - cold and soggy... unbelievably bad. My wife had the chicken wrap which she described as edible.

Later the same day on our way out to dinner I finished up with terrible incredible painful stomach cramps (only other thing I’d eaten that whole day was cereal for breakfast) which were the precursor to an intense bout of diarrhoea...

To sum up, I’d rather eat pretty much anywhere else...

Chamonix Vacation Ruined – Severe Food Poisoning Sent All 4 of Us to Hospital.

We visited this restaurant in Chamonix as a family of four, excited to enjoy their burgers. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. Within hours of eating, all of us suffered severe food poisoning — uncontrollable vomiting, extreme weakness. We had to drive to the hospital’s emergency department, where we spent 7 hours under medical care.

this experience ruined our vacation in Chamonix and the days after couldn’t go anywhere because our bodies were still very weak. If you value your health and your vacation, we strongly recommend avoiding this place.
