My massage therapist was lovely, and the bed was incredibly soft, like a cloud. However, I’m generous and give it two stars because the entire experience was subpar. We were staying at the hotel, and the check-in staff showed us some facilities inside the hotel, mentioning a sauna and steam at the spa. When we called the spa about what they offered three hours before our massage appointment, they said, “You can even come now to unwind.” Everything sounded inviting and warm.

Things quickly went downhill when we arrived 1.5 hours before our appointment. Two of us were seated on one day bed to fill out our form on the iPad while all the other guests were there in robes, each with their own day bed. A staff member collected the iPad and our empty glasses of welcome drink, leaving us there, in our own clothes, for 40 minutes with nothing, not even a bottle of water.

We had to walk up to the receptionist and ask where the sauna and steam were. She said, “Oh, you can go to the change room anytime.” We were confused because nobody had shown us anything. Finally, she walked us to the change room, where the lockers were not well-equipped. Some got everything, while others only got a robe. There was a lot of guessing on our own.

The sauna and steam were small, and there was only one shower room and one vanity table for the entire spa. One lady was already there making her hair, so we had to take another hair dryer and blow-dry our hair standing right next to her.

If it’s only a massage, maybe not making it more inviting by saying we can be there three hours prior? The system, lack of communication between staff, and the bathroom area were not up to the expectations they set. It is unlike any hotel spa I have been to. There are much better...
