Hello readers, I am giving 1 star ⭐️ because of the food, which was very good. However the service sucked! I have no idea how this restaurant continues to be open. Perhaps of its location? The ladies at the reception along with the manager (not sure if that’s really the manager though) were extremely rude & not helpful. I couldn’t believe that few minutes after paying the check, we were asked to leave because they needed to give our table away. Really this is how you treat your customers? Clearly they missed customer service 101! They rush you to order, they are annoying. Is this the food police? 😡😡
When my friend & I called them on their rude behavior, the girl at the reception got even more obnoxious and told us this is how it is done there. Well NO this is not how it should be done. Get your act together!
Since Garu has his hand in this business and he is from North America where service actually exist, I trust he will ensure that his staff is better trained! We for sure have decided that we will never go back. There is no amount of good food that could explain this obnoxiousness. 🤪. On that note we say “Manko bye 👋🏾 “.
Other reviews had mentioned their rudeness, and the ill service, we should have listened & stay clear. Well consider yourselves warned! This place is overrated, overpriced and the staff is ridiculous 😝😡. Keep your joy/sanity & stay away....
Read moreBit of a shambles here. Our hotel booked this place for us, and told us they had been struggling to contact Manko to clarify questions about menus, when we arrived we were told we had to eat the €115 per head discovery menu (due to being a table of 6). We asked what this menu was and our waiter said he chooses things as he goes along for us and there was no menu as such. Bizarre. It wasn’t even the price, as we were happy to spend this (and ended up spending more) we just wanted to know what we would be getting and they couldn’t really say. In the end they said we could have a la carte. The food was ok although not worth the price.. and definitely nothing special. Wine was good but very expensive.
We had intended to go to the club after but, our bill came, we gave cash plus an extra 15% tip in cash. Our waiter came running over seconds later and said we had largely underpaid. We counted the money out in front of him and he apologised half heartedly and said he miscounted, but frankly was embarrassing and amateur. At least double check what we gave before accusing us of under-paying!
Needless to say we went to Le Speakeasy instead for the rest of our night. There was no way Manko was having another penny from us. It’s trying to be something it’s not. It’s not working. Rude, disorganised, overpriced and do not recommend this...
Read moreTrendy restaurant in Paris. But very disappointing.
Restaurant opens at 7pm. They made people wait at the door until 7:10pm.
Menu is a mix of Peruvian food with japanese/chinese inspiration. They overuse the sauce in every dish to the point the whole meal feels like a sauce tasting experience. Lamb chops flooded with bbq sauce. Sauce for the peruvian Lomo, tuna tartare, octopus. The classic ceviche was ok, had all the right ingredients, but lacked acidity. Food is not cheap, but in line with this kind of restaurants in Paris.
Now the worst part… we ordered a bottle of white wine that cost 180€. They came back with a bottle of same brand but different year without us knowing. Wine was good, we got more bottles of the same way (we just ordered more wine). Bill comes, they charged 300€ per bottle. In fact we had the 300€ bottle, but it wasn’t the bottle we requested (the room is dark, we didn’t check the year of the wine when they brought the bottle). The multiple waiters said that we effectively had the wine they brought so we had to pay. They blamed it all on us, no effort at all to reach a middle ground, nothing. Very very poor service.
Manko is the classic overpriced, pretentious Paris restaurant in the 8th where people go to see and be seen with mediocre food and poor service. Definitely not an...
