A highly anticipated visit, which we were rather disappointed by unfortunately.

To begin, they forgot our napkins on the table. Something like this can easily be forgiven as a small oversight, but it was the compounding effects of missed details, that negatively impacted our experience overall....

Next, when offered an aperitif I opted for champagne. There were no choices. I was just given the most expensive glass straight away. Of course I found this out only after I got my bill.

Next, I ordered a glass of Sancerre, and yet I was given Chablis. Hmm...

When our mains were ready, we were still eating our entrees!!! My partner (who is French and works in hospitality mind you) saw our meals come out of the kitchen. Since we weren't finished eating, they literally sat our 2 x Filet Boeuf Brioché on a table stand thing they had near their computers, just outside the kitchen doors. They were never returned to the kitchen and kept under heat or replaced so yep you guessed it- we had semi luke warm mains for dinner. Yuck.

We were also not offered any more to drink after the mistake with the white- which just added to the experience as I was very much looking forward to a red with my main.

The main event was so disappointing we didn't even finish our plates. We both at half and even that was a stretch.

Service overall started good and then after the Sancerre mix up, it was just non existent. Such a shame.

It was our first time and we come from the Mornington Peninsula, Australia. Anyone who knows the area knows we have a fantastic wine region and GREAT local produce; hence our excitement to eat here.

Forever...

Relais Plaza is a truly remarkable dining experience that beautifully combines the elegance of art deco styling with Chef Jean Imbert's innovative take on gourmet brasserie classics. From the moment you enter, you are enveloped in a luxurious atmosphere that sets the stage for a culinary journey.

The menu is a delightful homage to traditional brasserie fare, elevated with gourmet twists that showcase Imbert's creativity and skill. Each dish is meticulously crafted, highlighting the rich flavors of classic recipes while introducing unexpected elements that surprise and delight the palate. Whether it’s the perfectly cooked steak frites or the rich duck confit, every bite reflects an artful mastery of technique.

The presentation of the dishes is a feast for the eyes, showcasing an attention to detail that enhances the overall dining experience. The luxurious décor, with its plush seating and stunning art deco features, creates an inviting yet sophisticated ambiance that is perfect for both special occasions and casual dining.

Service at Relais Plaza is exceptional. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing a memorable experience for every guest. Their recommendations for wine pairings are spot on and enhance the meal beautifully.

Overall, Relais Plaza is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a blend of traditional brasserie dishes with a gourmet twist in a stunning setting. Chef Jean Imbert has created a dining destination that not only delights the senses but also resonates with the rich history of Parisian cuisine. My second visit and I was not disappointed. To...

I will start off by saying the service was amazing! The hostess, the bartender and the server were all very lovely. But the food? It was awful and over priced. We ordered the water cress soup and I believe it was almost 30€. For some reason I thought it would be a broth with watercress in it. They mush the watercress and it turns into a sauce like texture and it comes with 5 pieces of bite sized ravioli. It tasted like… dirty? I don’t know how else to describe it but something was really off. Then we ordered the beef tartare. I order beef tartare every single time I see it on a menu, needless to say I am a huge fan of it. This was by far the worst one I’ve ever had. We put everything in it, onions, capers, oil, this is my first time having beef tartare with pickles and tobasco but it was so bad. We tried to keep eating it since we didn’t finish the soup but we couldn’t. It made my sister’s stomach hurt so bad she couldn’t even eat anymore. In fact she had to vomit on our way out. I know the server could tell we were not enjoying our food but I guess not much could have been done. He did however take off my sister’s drink from the bill since she couldn’t drink it after taking a bite of the tartare. Which was 54€ by the way. The only thing that was somewhat decent was the stuffed squid. Which I probably would of enjoyed more if I wasn’t already disgusted by our first two dishes. I’m sorry if this review is harsh but it’s the truth. I do thank you for the lovely...

Attended the Diner de Noel, 2017, the 7 course Christmas dinner with wine pairings. Everything was delicious. Skill-fully prepared, beautifully presented, but the evening was fraught with mishaps. For seven courses, each course was a full entree sized portion, just entirely way too much food. So much of each course was sent back, I guess meant for the garbage, an incredible waste. The portions needed be much, much smaller. There was an unfortunate mishap with the maître d as well, and it just rather ruined the evening, honestly. He was fawning heavily over a table behind me, and elbowed me in the head while bowing his obeisance to them. I chose to let it go, assuming it was an honest mistake. Which he then repeated minutes later, very firmly. I can overlook being elbowed in the head, once, but twice was unforgivable. A lady in formal wear trying to enjoy a very expensive holiday meal should not have her hair mussed by an ass-kissing maître d that is so busy fawning over one table he ruins the evening of another. Not to mention, only an apology was given, quickly, and no attempt at recompense was offered, though at this point people were staring, and it was very embarrassing. Three stars is for the taste of the food only, the presentation and guest service was sub-standard.

While the attentive service was welcoming, the actual food left a lot to be desired. Lacking in depth of flavor, the dishes were heavily weighed down by their compositions, tasting more akin to an in-flight meal, Delta business class I’d say. It is clear that the menu, decor, and overall experience were curated to appeal to an American clientele, which was also reflected in the majority of the diners present. Perhaps it is simply a matter of taste, but the food felt underwhelming, particularly in comparison to the ages of Ducasse and Philippe Marc. After trying a couple of dishes, I left without having dessert. I was not curious anymore. Discerning diners seeking an authentic and elevated French culinary experience would be better served looking elsewhere, given the abundance of dining options available in Paris, at any price point.
