My party of three had reservations at La Cour Jardin restaurant for 14:30, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we arrived just 7 minutes late. Despite being ready to order and willing to accommodate the delay, we were turned away because the kitchen supposedly wouldn't cook. Even though we would have needed time to decide on our orders and enjoy a drink, the staff made no effort to accommodate the minor delay.
As travelers who crossed the Atlantic specifically to experience this establishment, we were extremely disappointed by the lack of flexibility and customer service. It's unacceptable that a mere 7-minute delay, which could easily be caused by traffic or other factors, resulted in being turned away without any attempt to make amends.
While the hostess remained professional and polite, the overall experience left much to be desired. For a restaurant that prides itself on being high-class, the rigid and unwelcoming policy towards slight tardiness is a major letdown. Our money ended up being spent at a nearby, more accommodating restaurant that provided a much more positive dining experience.
We hope La Cour Jardin takes this feedback to heart and reconsiders their approach to customer service. In a competitive industry, flexibility and understanding are crucial in ensuring that guests, especially groups, have a memorable and enjoyable...
Read moreLa Cour Jardin was very disappointing. We had cancelled our reservation to eat at Les Ombres because we were supposed to eat at La Cour Jardin earlier in the week and the reservation was cancelled due to rain. This meal was so disappointing and one of the most expensive meals we had while we were in Paris. My husband and I shared the beef for 2 (La cote de boeuf) and it was the toughest piece of meat we had ever eaten. Our adult son ordered the John Dory fish and they served him another fish, La dorade au citron for 2, and told him they were out of the John Dory. The fish was good but they charged us for the meal for 2 without asking first if that was okay. My husband complained about our beef and the fact our son had ordered one fish and they brought out another without asking and then charged us for the more expensive fish. They apologized and only charged us for the John Dory but if he hadn’t said anything, we would have been charged for the more expensive fish. This place is beautiful and enchanting. The servers were excellent and very attentive and polite but the food was not worth the extra cost. I wish we would have gone...
Read moreThe best service, the best location, the best decor. Absolutely lovely place for a dinner- outside, and yet covered if needed. The service was honestly the finest I've experienced- everyone on the staff was well-informed, trained and polite. But- the food was merely 'very good', and that's because it didn't live up to the price. I had dorado (pour deux) with a wine and lemon sauce- and it was.. good. Nothing exceptional, and no better than most fine restaurants in a country known for its food. The entree of an avocado was amazing with a faux 'skin' which was delicious. But the cost was in-line with the hotel prices, which are let's be polite and say 'high'. The other component of a hotel which caters to the nouveau riche wanting to be seen are proof that money does not buy manners, style or attitude. I'm glad the hotel has a dress code, because ugly Americans and other foreigners were pushing it to the limit in t-shirts. I would consider the restaurant again it if I was staying at the hotel, but there are so many amazing restaurants in Paris, that I would not...
