Terrible Experience - Rude Staff and Discriminatory Behavior
I had an awful experience at this store today. I came in to return a product that my husband had bought earlier the same dayâa product that is not suitable for my child's kindergarten unfortunately. The salesperson first refused to accept the return, even though I had the receipt, credit card, and everything was well within the return window and decided to communicate with me in English. She handed me a piece of paper, not even from the POS, and when I questioned it, she claimed that their machine couldnât process returns. When I asked if this was legal procedure, she said âdo you understand itâs not possible with the machine.â Then I have asked for another solution.
To make matters worse, the salesperson decided to mock my French-speaking abilities, saying, "you are in France, so learn how to speak French properly, say to learn Merci.â which I am not sure that she is good at. This was completely uncalled for and extremely unprofessional eventhough I am residing here since long time and never got any issue in any store in Strasbourg not even for particular cases like simple returns. Whatâs even more shocking is that this rude behavior occurred right in front of my child, who understands French and got afraid and stood behind me in schock. Her behavior caused long line in the queue, and later on she decided to take the return and pay back in cash. Voila! However once she switched back to French, she insulted me in a manner so rude that I can't even write it here. This kind of behavior is unacceptable anywhere, let alone in a store that is supposed to cater to families and children.
