I found this store when I was looking into buying a kitchen knife in Tokyo during my family trip in august 2023..I think I read about it on a forum. I had already purchased a bunka knife in Osaka the week earlier but was staying in the Asakusa area so decided to take a look. There are quite a few stores in the Kappabashi area but most seemed higher end or expensive and somewhat more intimidating. I liked the feel of this store because it was smaller. The selection was probably not as big as the other stores but the owner/manager spoke English well and provided some suggestions for a Nikiri knife that suited my use and budget. I ended up buying a 160mm 3 ply VG5 Tamahagane. It felt good in my hand and more so I enjoyed the whole buying process (no pressure and enjoyable) and conversation with the owner/manager. I had the leave the knife overnight to have them engrave it in the morning for pick up. As a coincidence friends of ours were staying in the Asakusa area at the same time and they were looking to buy some knives. I told them about the store and then ended up buying 2 from him as well. Read moreI was looking to buy a new all-purpose knife while in Japan. I stumbled across this one en route to the more « established » stores based on Reddit posts and Google reviews. I told her I wanted to check out other stores, and she encouraged me to! After going to multiple stores and not receiving the same calibre of service and expertise, I returned and purchased my two new knives! I happened to be checking out when a knife enthusiast confirmed that it was a good pick and explained that some stores sell knives with HOLLOW handles! The sales lady inspected the knives and pulled another one because she didn’t like the quality of the first one. I highly recommend this store, and I received excellent...

We first had a look halfway through our trip, then came back a week later to purchase (I didn't wan't to carry expensive knives around Japan). I went to most of the other knife shops that day but overall found the staff here to be the nicest and open to having a talk about their products as well as being most competitive on price.
There is a saleslady who speaks really good english was a huge help and was...
