Lacking in customer service.

The following experience I was the only customer in the store.

I wanted to try on two high-end Seiko pieces. A 62MAS reinterpretation and a Tuna 1000m auto priced at RM16.5k and RM21k respectively. I acknowledge these pieces were some of the priciest in the store.

I asked the the first saleslady to try on the two watches. She responded with a shocked tone and repeated the price to me, and I responded with "Yes I'm aware of the price". It felt like she's surprised that I can afford these models, did I look broke to her?

The Store Manager (Ms Chai) chimed in to say I can only try one watch because of how expensive the pieces were. I said ok.

I tried on 62MAS first and I asked politely if I could take pictures with my phone (I keep these pictures for reference as I want to compare how each model wears on my wrist, particularly the Lug-to-Lug dimension) and she consented. After taking the pictures, Ms Chai joined me and the saleslady.

I tried my luck by politely asking if I could try the Tuna next, further elaborating I wanted to compare the size of the two models. Ms Chai boldy claimed these two models are the same size, I responded saying these two cannot be the same size as they are two completely different models (62MAS vs a Tuna). I was surprised as this was very basic knowledge that the Manager doesn't know about their own product. Once she realised her incorrect statement, she decided to let me try on the Tuna. Once I put on the Tuna, she conceded "yes it's thicker". Something I'm already familiar with, but I just wanted to compare the Lug-to-Lug dimension. I politely asked if I could take pictures on my phone, Ms Chai said "no, just look only". So suddenly the picture taking policy changed?

Ms Chai proceeded to tell me they don't usually let people try on watches when it's busy, I replied saying "I'm the only customer in the store, and how is a customer supposed to make an informed decision on a watch purchase if they cannot try it on their wrist?" She didn't respond to me.

This whole exchange I could sense the anxiety in their speech, made me feel very uneasy. It did not seem they were interested to sell me anything.

I have been to higher end watch stores wearing far worse clothing, handling watches multiple times more in cost, and still recieving far better customer experience.

Frankly, I do not believe this store is professionally equipped to be selling this tier of watches, considering the Manager's lack of knowledge between their own products and with how uncomfortable they were in handling their product and the customer. Perhaps they need better training.

It's a shame as this store has a decent selection of watches that typical stores...

Great Service from a Friendly Salesperson

Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine desire to assist made the entire shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free. I left the store feeling confident in my purchase and grateful for the exceptional service provided.
