Update: Has been a year and mom (with dementia) really wanted to stop for a bite. I was leery and I was right. Dried egg on the silverware, spoiled banana bread was sickening and a waitress good at avoiding you. I told the manager we weren't staying for food poisoning. On our way out, we didn't even get out of the door and was harassed by a homeless man whom got hostile because the $10 cash I had given him wasn't enough he wanted $200 for his rent down at the Inn. They ruined a rare day out for us, no apology and the man scared mom, he shouldn't have been allowed inside to harass customers coming and going. NOW I can say without any doubt, we will NEVER go here again. Pathetic. 3rd time is charm, I will not return. Mid pandemic went in and the food was awful, figured it had something to do with the current world situation and lack of employees. First of this year, things seemed to be getting better thought we'd give them another try. They weren't busy, but as we walked in a family walked out and warned us they had been standing there waiting for 20 minutes and weren't even acknowledged. We waited as well, we were seen, clearly, but nothing. We ended up going somewhere else after waiting a full 20 minutes. Today, it's gotta be better! Right? Wrong!!! First we were seated to a dirty table, I refused, picked up the menus and picked out a clean table, funny, they didn't even notice, but then when all the workers congregate at the front bar talking incessantly, paying no attention to their customers that's what happens. My fish was disgusting, mushy fish with mushy breading everywhere, sent it back and got it back 15 minutes later. Mom's country fried steak made her sick, she didn't want to complain but when I noticed she'd barely eaten anything she said the beans were mixed old with new and there was a lot of meat in them and it wasn't ham or bacon, she couldn't tell what it was besides gross. When I asked her if she wanted a to go container she said no, she wouldn't feed that to her dogs, she has NEVER done that! Got a refill on my drink as we were preparing to leave, was a good thing since the refill was not what I was drinking in the first place. You'd have thought, seeing two full plates left on the table, your waitress would ask about them, again, nothing. This is a waste, of time, money or any appetite. The food isn't done, but I am. For the record:...
Read moreThe food is decent but the service was terrible. My family was taking my mom out for her birthday. Firstly…Service was bad from start to finish. Waited almost 10 minutes to be seated. No acknowledgment of our presence. No hello, no welcome to Bob Even’s and no someone will seat you shortly. They were not busy, so no excuses to bring ignored. Once seated, we had plenty of time to look and look and look over the menu before a waitress finally said, “Hello, I forget about people back here.” Then she said, “Can I start you off with something to drink?” Yes of course, we replied and we are also ready to order, we have been waiting 15 minutes. - At this point it was evident, my waitress was not going to be good. Our waitress would have definitely benefited in having additional training in customer service and waiting on tables. Maybe even considering a different line of work. Our waitress was not customer oriented in any way and very slow. We waited 30 minutes to get our food. We had refills on our drinks before we ever saw our food and did I mention, they were not busy? So, as I looked around, I noticed a couple ladies sitting next to us arriving approximately 15 minutes after we had already been seated. Now, these ladies had a different waitress and also had their salads 10 minutes after arriving. I finally asked if their waitress wanted to be our waitress. I explained to that waitress the problem we were having. She said, “ Let me go find out what the hold up is.” - 5 minutes later here comes the good waitress 👍 and our waitress 👎 with all of our food. The side salades were brought out with the meal. Then when it came time to pay, we waited 5 minutes at the counter just to do that. My family and I could have walked out without paying but we didn’t. As 3 three girls stood there talking, paying no attention to us. Which is how the whole experience was from start to finish. Anyway, to make a long story short…Your customer experience may differ based on your waitress, but for me, my every experience with Bob Even’s waitresses have sucked. I have never been to the Anderson, IN Bob Even’s, so for me to have the same experience as I have had from previous Bob Even’s, I feel they lack on training and/or care for the customers. Bob Even’s, we will...
Read moreI really wish I could leave a 0 star review. My mother and I went in for lunch around 2p. We were seated quickly. We ordered our food and drinks within 5 minutes of being seated. We then waited 30 minutes for our food to come out. As we were eating, I saw a bug climbing on the seat next to my mother. It was a cockroach! We told our waitress who saw it. She called up the manager. I overheard the conversation between the waitress and the manager when she told her about the bug. The manager said it was absolutely not true. Then she approached us and asked what the problem was. We told her quietly that we saw a roach on the seat. She immediately went into the fact that she has worked there 4 years and had never seen one. I told her we were not complaining. We just wanted to let her know. She then changed her tone and apologized. She tried looking for the roach and then walked away. Many waitresses were standing behind the counter talking the entire time we were there. When we checked out we waited 10 min to pay for our meal. 3 waitresses/waiters walked up and said they couldn't help because they did not know how to run the register. The manager finally came and rang us out. Her name is Deborah. She asked how the meal was. We said everything was fine, but the wait to pay was ridiculous. She said she was the only one in the store that could run the register, but she was also cooking in the kitchen. This manager had the WORST attitude I have ever seen. I am an Assistant Store Lead for a company and this is not how you treat customers. I highly suggest higher ups have Deborah go through more customer service training. A discount for the troubles would have been nice, but she didn't even give it a thought. Definitely letting everyone know they have horrible service and clearly have...
