My husband and I have contemplated the thought of purchasing a Sleep Number bed since 2013. We were in the market for a new bed and thought we would see what the hype was about. Needless to sayā¦the hype was WAY OUT OF OUR BUDGETā¦so we went with a budget friendly middle of the road bed (which I hated after the first night). It was replaced with yet another middle of the road bed 2 years later. After an accident in 2019 I needed more support for my back and my left sideā¦and my bed wasnāt doing it. Another mattress was purchased but this time it was more expensive, more top of the line memory foam. It worked! I slept great and I felt like finally I could regain my sleepless nights. I went from 2 hours a night to 4 maybe 6 hours each nightā¦that was a win in my book. But that lasted for about 1 year. I noticed a huge area on my husbands side where the memory foam āforgotā to come back up after he woke up. It was the same on my side. For the next year we slept in the valleys and there was a hill between us. This was torture on my back and side. So we started looking again. This time I vowed to get the RIGHT BED FOR THE BEST PRICE! After-all, by body is my wealth and health, so I need to invest in it. It was hard searching for the right bed because COVID-19 had laid claim to all the outside space. I couldnāt sit, touch, lay or even get a true sense of what I was looking at online. So I continue to suffer for another 7 months. In May (2021) I decided to shop in person at all the popular mattress stores, I even dragged The Man (my husband) with me. Of course Sleep Number was on the list to see (feel) in person but The Man was not interested in their prices and quickly took them off the listā¦again. In August (2021) I visited the Sleep Number store in Arlington Parks Mall, where I met my new favorite friend, and sleep expert Alejandra! She was amazingā¦for real! She listened to what I needed then discussed my wants, she never tried to make me feel pressured and even let me 2 daughters interact with us. By the end of my visit I was soldā¦but The Man wasnāt there. Alejandra said take time to discuss with The Man, and she would follow up with me. She did! But I didnāt answer. The Man said no and I didnāt want to tell her. 2 weeks had passed and I dreamt about my Sleep Number bed. This was the right bed for the best price so, I made the decision toā¦talk to The Man againā¦but this time it was the way he needed to understand. 3 mattress 8 year $7000ā¦.and weāre look for a new one nowā¦1 Sleep Number same priceā¦forever. On top of a few other perks š and conversations with The Man āŗļø I (we) became Sleep Number owners on 8/23. Alejandra was there to help me not only get everything I needed but my girl saved me money!! She was patient with all my questions (cause I was online looking at stuff and she was on the phone with me). After 15 minutes and 1 comparison and 20 question about sheetsā¦it was a wrap! Do I recommend Sleep Numberā¦HELL YES! The store was clean, they worked to maintain social distance when others came in and they follow upā¦even when you donāt respond. The sales experience itself was excellent, but I strongly recommend that anyone considering a Sleep Number product, especially the 360 climate bed, ask as many questions as possible about the hardware. If the staff canāt answer, push them to get the information. If theyāre unwilling, I would not recommend making the investment.
Unfortunately, when it came time for service, the problems began. Both parts I needed replaced are known problem areas (listed in their troubleshooting guides), but getting a tech out was a battle. Sleep Number heavily pushes self-service, even though my medical limitations make that nearly impossible. At one point, they tried to charge me almost $200 for a tech visitāeven though I was under warranty.
To make matters worse, the delivery process was sloppy. The movers failed to leave the required plastic plugs (needed if you ever move the bed) and also didnāt put screws in the frame. I discovered this only when I moved and had to track down the missing pieces myself. While the movers later provided screws at no cost, it highlighted a lack of accountability.
Customer service has been inconsistent at best. Out of the five or six times Iāve called, only one representative truly offered great service. Most interactions left me frustrated and disappointedāespecially considering the price of this product.
For context, the last bed I owned cost $500 at an outlet. It came with everythingāmattress, box spring, headboard, and frameāand lasted seven years without a single issue. I never had to call for repairs, and it was comfortable the whole time. In comparison, I deeply regret āupgradingā to Sleep Number.
While the concept behind the 360 bed may sound innovative, the long-term reality is constant hardware failures, expensive hassles, and unreliable customer service. At first, I recommended this bed to everyone I knew. Now, I find myself telling those same people to avoid it.
If you do choose to buy, be extremely thorough: ⢠Confirm exactly what pieces should be included with delivery. ⢠Ask detailed questions about service and warranty coverage. ⢠Understand that you may have to fight for proper support if problems arise.
Bottom line: This is not a good product for the cost, and the customer service makes the experience even worse. I would not recommend...

Shanna K. greeted us immediately upon walking in & she looked up our order and put us on a queen and it was so small in comparison to the king. She also let us feel the difference in firmness and how different raising both head and feet together on one base vs separate. My husband had MS and he's disabled and most sales people move Too quickly for him and talk to fast for him but shanna was very mindful of him. Shanna was kind, thoughtful and she was very patient with us as we had tons of questions. We felt comfortable enough with her to ask all the questions we had and Shanna answered any questions we had honestly and even thought of some things we never thought of, which we greatly appreciate.
Shanna even explained the process of keeping your mattress in great condition with the mattress protectors and how the oils from our bodies can still affect the mattress.
Overall it was a great experience and we're so thankful we didn't purchase online bcs we would've been very unhappy w the queen and not being able to separate the foot/head lift separately.
Shanna explained all the pricing and she even helped us with the prescription our doctor wrote for us to get the sleep number bed so we didn't have to pay sales tax. That alone saved us $500!!!
