DON’T WEAR PACHOULI!!!! My husband and I stepped into the store after noticing the cute rain boots outside the front door. After about two or three minutes of being inside, the clerk or owner (don’t know which) began asking us in a manic, accusitory voice, “I smell pachouli! Do you have on pachouli??!!” “No…” I said, quite taken aback by her demeanor. “Well, someone has it on. I’m highly sensitive to it!! Maybe it’s in your deodorant?! Do you wear Lume deodorant?”

She then proceeded to step outside the store to clear herself of the offending scent. It was such a weird experience.

There was another lady who stepped inside the store right after us and she began asking her the same questions… she promptly left.

Realizing that I use a natural laundry detergent that has pachouli in it, I let her know, apologized and quickly left her store. Maybe the boutique was cute?? Who knows…. Just think about your scent...

What a lovely shop!!! I purchased the most beautiful, elegant necklace, and cutest little turquoise fish earrings that just make me smile! I never buy the first things I see in a shop… ever! My usual approach to shopping is to look in every shop and see all of the options first, before I make any purchases. But even though this was only the second store I had walked into this morning, I knew right away that the necklace and earrings were both made just for me! I love them so much I put them on immediately and enjoyed wearing them all day. And the owner was so helpful in suggesting wonderful things to do for my first ever visit to Maine and this...

A gem of a store. From the unassuming displays, someone might accidentally miss that the store owner has selected some incredibly unique jewelry from around the world. This ranges from earrings designed by Ayala Bar from Israel, to more local (but also talented) artists like Lauren Pollaro of Maine. This is a curated collection, not the mass produced stuff that you find in multiple stores around town. Also FYI-- Even though the earrings are hung on metal displays in the store, the store will happily place them in a nice box for you -- Ready...
