888 Bellevue — Local services in Bellevue

Moving in I thought this would be my favorite place to live. Unfortunately I was let down. It was a smooth app process and the leasing manager was super helpful (she still is). Here’s a list of the problems:

1. The first thing to ruin it was when I got my first water bill. It was $460 for ONE MONTH and I live by myself in a 550 sq fr unit. (If there’s two ppl on lease then it’s double that or triple for 3). This was not a one time thing, it continued every month and I would have to argue it every week bc there no way I used that water. Eventually they limited it $150/person bc everyone was complaining about it on the community board.
2. We live in downtown Bellevue and there is only a couple parking spots on our street which are always taken. 888 has about 8 parking spots that are on property but aren’t reserved for residents. You’d think they’d let our guests park there but NOPE! They try to say that they provide guest parking but you get towed 8am - 7pm. I have a girlfriend friend who can’t stay the night bc they’ll tow her car by the time she wakes up.
3. There are a lot of dogs which is great bc I love dogs but if a dog has an accident in the common areas I’d like the owner to clean it up. Unfortunately there as an Asian girl who’s dog pees in the elevator on consistent basis and she just leaves it. Only reason I know who the owner is is bc I got on the elevator when the dog was peeing. She acted like she was going to clean it up but when I got back on the elevator after getting my food, it was still there. Again, it’s not a one time thing. Usually occurs two to three times a week. I feel bad for the janitors that have to clean it up. Conclusion: It is a nice property and has great finishes but that is not the only thing that matters. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. MANAGEMENT IS NEGLIGENT AND SHOWS NO REGARD FOR TENANTS' SAFETY.

An incident occurred on the 888 rooftop during my son's birthday party, where another tenant brandished a loaded handgun and threatened us. This left us traumatized and fearful for our safety. The police were called, and the other tenant was arrested on serious charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.

Despite management initially acknowledging the incident, communication afterward was poor, and we felt that the situation was not taken seriously. We received no assurance of increased security measures, nor were other residents notified of the incident, even though the individual involved continued living in the building.

Feeling abandoned and vulnerable, we realized that staying at 888 Bellevue was no longer a safe option. We took steps to protect ourselves, including staying elsewhere whenever possible, even at additional expense, to avoid further encounters with the tenant.

We hoped that management and ownership would have taken more proactive measures to ensure our safety, but unfortunately, that was not our experience. Based on what we went through, I would strongly advise against...

Terrible place to live, mainly due to sheer incompetence of management. There is very little enforcement of community guidelines including but not limited to smoking within the building (particularly the rooftop, where you'll find cigarette butts littered here and there), animal urine within the elevators (a weekly occurrence), as well as rooftop occupation well past midnight within the middle of the week. Other issues that plague this building: (i) over-the-top utility bills (as in $300+ dollars for minimal usage within a mere sub-600 sqft residence) & (ii) cheap building materials (sound proofing from above & below is terrible). Each of these issues has gone unresolved in our year-long stay and beyond. It has been quite a let down to find that despite ample postings within the online community portal & acknowledgement from management, zero steps have been taken to eliminate or even mitigate these failures.

Also be aware that if you dare post an unpopular opinion of any kind in the online community portal, it will swiftly be silenced and blocked by management with zero...
