I went to Space salon for hair color a week before my wedding, asked for orange-red and provided references and got cherry-red as a result, Uni acknowledged this and apologized for it being cool toned and different from references she previously said she could match. I respected her acknowledging it wasn’t right and went forward with style testing for my wedding day and she tried several different curls on a small part of my hair, I was in a rush to find a stylist, paid for my color/ test style/ hair product and committed to our appointment. I got the hair lotion only because she said the hair color made my hair really dry so I should use it every day.
On my wedding day, my hair was damaged from her color job the week before. Most of the hair colored was virgin hair so it should not have been damaged like it was with one simple treatment, only end ends had some highlights from a while ago and I NEVER use heat products so I know I started with healthy hair down to my waist.
Uni noticed how dry it was and warned me it will be very dry after styling and to use the lotion she sold me every day. While she was doing my curls with a curling iron, she blew on each one with her mouth to cool them down, the resulting look was very nice but not what I expected. She used a lot of product and heat so the curls lasted a few hours which was great but my hair felt brittle and didn’t move, then as I was washing my hair in the shower that night after my wedding, I smelled burned hair. I tried to save it with the lotion she sold me but it was so fried I had it professionally cut 2 weeks later and the person who cut my hair was shocked at how burned it was from one styling.
Unfortunately the damage was so bad I had to get 8 inches of hair cut off. This is not a cheap place, the service for color and test style and hair lotion and bridal styling in her salon was hundreds of dollars. I should have gone with a vetted colorist and bridal stylist, for the price someone would have come to my home before wedding but that’s my fault for waiting last minute to find someone but in 16 years of getting my hair done I have never had someone literally burn my hair or get a color so wrong. The good news is she did take my hair color appointment after I had to reschedule the week before, maybe she just felt rushed but she knew it was hot enough to have to blow on the hair with her mouth after releasing the curling iron every time, and she noted how dry it all was after coloring it and again...
Read moreAfter years of shaving my head and having short hair I was ready to brave the grow out process. I had been at a tipping point for a while where I was tired of curling my hair every time I washed it and trying to lengthen the amount of time between washes which just left my hair greasy and uncomfortable. I was becoming very disenchanted with the idea of the grow out so I decided to so something drastic and get my first perm. I shopped around and read so many online reviews before I found Space Salon. A lot of local salons had 5 star reviews but not a lot of testimonials about perms specifically. When I found Space Salon I was so impressed by the reviews alone. I decided to reach out for an appointment. Uni responded to me almost immediately, I sent her a reference photo, and we set a date.
When I arrived for my appointment she took my jacket and offered me a comfortable robe. When she asked me if I had a Japanese straightening treatment on my hair and I told her no, she said, "Oh, you need a perm!" She cut my hair and then permed it. The entire process was so comfortable. She offered me water and tea, gave me a stack of magazines which I gladly flipped through, and offered me a lap pillow which honestly made a huge difference in comfort which I really liked.
When I saw the end product of my hair I was speechless. It looked so natural and was exactly what I was looking for! Believe it or not my curly girl permed hair care routine actually takes a shorter amount of time than it did before the treatment. Uni was so kind and attentive. I would 100% recommend this shop to anyone on the fence about...
Read moreMy wife went here to have her dead ends cut off and a bang trims. She specifically asked for 1/2 an inch off but was told it was going more than an inch because of how much there was. She accepted the recommendation. She was then offered layered cuts, which she refused because she had had it before, and it did not look good. The stylist did the layered cuts ANYWAYS. Causing her hair to look awkward and choppy. She then asked for a bang trim with specific instructions that only her existing bangs should be trimmed as she has her specific preferences. The stylist cut her bangs and then ADDED more bangs but cutting off hair that she was trying to grow longer. A visit that was supposed to be around $80, but because she forced the layered upcharge, it became $100. My wife even tipped her $20 for her hair to not only be ruined for MONTHS; she would have to get extensions to fix the damages that were done to her hair. We are expecting a refund AND additional compensation for my wife hair treatment. Her hair was so bad she came home, CRYING to me. Pictures are of before and after. $120 to get her hair ruined and self-image destroyed. This review will be published on other platforms as well. Please advise when visiting here that your opinion...
