One Fly Outfitters — Local services in Black Mountain

Walked in the shop, gave the man compliments on his display and basically got ignored. The man could have at minimum tried to sell me a decent fly rod if nothing else. I was looking at them and mentioned the fact that I did not want to learn on my grandfather's split bamboo. That didn't even get a look. In my retail experience I would have been all over that in a heartbeat. Then to top it off this person gave false info about a place I had asked about to fish in, which I learned shortly after that is a hot spot. I definitely would not recommend this place unless you knew what you wanted and were desperate for it. By the way this was not one the folks that is listed as being staff on...

This kind of business is why you should support local places. We poked our heads in waiting for dinner and had a lovely time talking with a lady who was working there. (sorry not sure if she was the owner or just worked there) She was extremely knowledgeable about local fishing and fly fishing as well. My boys are avid fisherman and we bought some flies for my oldest and she was kind enough to throw in one that would help with local fishing. If you are a fisherman this store is well worth not only visiting but purchasing...

Went to buy some lures and a new spinning reel. Was a note on the door that said be back in 10 min. So we waited 25 min. Every time I knocked on the door the woman inside lifted her hand up and said wait. She was talking to a man about something that was more important than selling products. If she was even remotely nice then they would be getting 5 stars. But to hold your index finger up like me and my children were dogs. That deserves only 1 star. All of the other store owners were very friendly...
