Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Chattanooga

I am rarely overly impressed but this.. this is excellent! We walked through, checking out the offerings and it did not disappoint. Clearly caters to larger quantities and restaurants but appeals to small buyers too. We were greeted about an aisle in and left to shop. No pressure or pushiness like some places. The store was OCD clean and well organized. Prices are visible and fair.

As we circled the meat, cheese and hot food section a manager appeared and asked how we were doing and asked how we were liking the store. After we answered he asked if we would like to try any of the meats or cheeses available. We declined due to full bellies but it's great to know sampling is possible to make sure you enjoy something before buying by the pound.

We looked at the heater prepacked foods band I asked the manager of they cooked in soybean oil(I'm allergic) and he let me know that they only cook in clear, refined coconut oil. I know for most that's probably irrelevant but for me that is amazing. I am thankful to have a place to get premade food that is soybean oil free!

It is so convenient to live right next to Gordons, being able to walk from your downtown apartment into a clean and organized store is the best feeling. They have great pricing and seems like weekly specials where stuff is discounted. Every Tuesday and Thursday my dinner is already planned out cause on Tuesday.. it's 50 cent tacos and Thursdays it's $1 BBQ sandwiches and mac n cheese/baked beans. The staff is always super nice, especially the manager Cinnamon. Even though she is a Texas A&M fan! We won't hold that against her though, always super sweet and helps me find stuff. I'm definitely a regular because of people like her!! Highly recommended place! The deli staff is always super friendly and helpful as well. They change it up sometimes so it leaves you with the option to always try something new. The bang bang shrimp pasta to die for! I'll even grab a thing of their already cooked ribs and throw it in the oven when i have guest...

Purchasing in store is great. The aisles are clean, organized and items are easy to find. Management & staff used to be great, but has sincerely gone downhill in the past few months. Ordering online & picking up in store is horrible. My order is almost never ready to go, despite me waiting til the end of the day to pick up. I even have waited until the following day and same thing. They end up picking out the items while I’m there waiting, which beats the whole purpose of ordering ahead. Also, a lot of times items are out of stock but you won’t know until you show up to pick up. I really want to give this store 4/5 stars because my experience until recently had been great, but lately that hasn’t...
