OSAKA TON KATSU — Restaurant in Columbus

最高!!! Been waiting to try this place since they opened, but can never make it in time before they close. I will make time from now on, because one visit, and I'm hooked! I was so excited, I forgot to take photos. We arrived 30min before closing, and because everything is made to order, it was about 30min to receive our food, and we were there till near 8pm. No one rushed us out or made us feel like a burden. The owners even came out and talked with us, and they are the sweetest people ever!! Owners are Japanese, by the way, so the dishes are authentic! My mom ordered Oroshi Tonkatsu Teishoku, my son Chicken Katsudon, and I Miso Tonkatsudon, and we all ordered Tonjiru. The katsu are American large portion sizes, crispy, juicy and tender cuts of meat, and absolutely delicious! I haven't found Miso Katsu since living in Japan nearly 20yrs ago, and the miso sauce was savory and delicious. The Tonjiru took me back to homemade meals with my おばあちゃん, and everything down to the fragrance in the bathroom made me feel like I was back in Japan! When owners asked what we would try next time, and we all said curry, they gave us a sample to try, and I can't wait to return in the next couple weeks and get the full portion! Katsu is their specialty, and they do it marvelously. With onigiri, and some other menu items in the works, it's something you could eat every day and never grow...

What a cute little store and so inviting. The owners did a great job at creating a warm and cool environment. There's street and garage parking available around the area. There's a decent amount of seating inside, including big tables and single seats.

They're still expanding their menu and items but all what they had was very good. We got the Katsu Curry and Ton Katsu Teishoku. The chicken and pork were cooked well, not dry, and breaded with quality panko. Their miso soup is rich and delicious! I would recommend upgrading to their Ton Jiru soup, it's very good. Everything was decently priced, seasoned well, and felt authentic. I think the pork cutlet has been the best I've had in town! Their sauces were so good and the entire meal was flavorful, made well, and with quality ingredients!

We got to speak to the owner for a bit and they're a wife and husband pair. They're both from Japan and many of the ingredients they use are imported from Japan. They take time to prep their meats and make sure that it's as authentic as possible. They talked to us about their experiences and their lives. The owners were so nice and gave us some samples of their soups, which we will be back for them all!

I was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. We ordered the Oroshi Katsu and Katsu Curry, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. Every bite was flawless—tender, crispy, and packed with flavor.

The Oroshi Katsu was a highlight—the pork was incredibly tender and juicy, with a light, crispy coating topped with fresh grated daikon and a savory sauce that tied everything together. The balance of textures and flavors was just right.
