**** also shared to Facebook- I assume they will delete. **** My fiancé and I came tonight for los tigres and had such a good time. We encountered wonderful and helpful staff. However, watching this one particular employee has us never returning. She would not let anyone stand or dance. Even when it was encouraged by the performers. When the performers towards the end brought out all different kinds of Hispanic flags from other countries she was shaking her head and rolling her eyes. I also witnessed her shaking her finger in someone’s face telling them she couldn’t wave their Mexico flag. These instances happened multiple times. I have never been to a show where people could not stand or dance even when encouraged by performers. Upon my observations I can only conclude that this women is extremely racist. Sticking you finger in peoples faces, shaking your head and rolling the eyes while Hispanic groups from all over are being represented on stage, and the aggressiveness and rudeness she had with individuals is disgusting. I will not support a place that allows racism. This is her in the photo

Going on only my second year volunteering...many of my cohorts have 15+ but by no means are they all seniors! Wonderfully diverse entertainment schedule. Beautiful historic theaters. Volunteers choose their schedules two months in advance and must only commit to two shows a month. If you have free time and you’re looking for something different, explore CAPA volunteering!

This is a really cool venue. My only complaint is the sound up in the balcony was considerably worse than downstairs. I went downstairs to listen and it sounded like a completely different concert down there. I am not sure if that was the building and/or issues with the speaker configuration or if it was the sound man.

I debated leaving a review because I've had many wonderful experiences with CAPA. However, my latest interaction during the Aiely performance was so horrible, that I could not stay quiet. I preface this response with the knowledge that I contacted board members and leadership who chose not to respond for over a week. I purchased tickets with a large group, approximately 8 people. After scanning in, my little one wanted a snack. We head out, briefly spoke to the usher and went to get a snack. It was less than 5 minutes. We head back to our seats and we're stopped at the door. They were now refusing people back into the location. There was no messaging stating that guest could not enter after the show began. No announcement was made on the audio system. No, the ushers were not aware of the policy until last minute. When I asked the manager, she falsely stated that it was online and that the change was Ailey dance groups "fault". Nothing was published online and she admitted this fact afterward. As approximately 20+ people stood in the lobby, there were screens with no sound and limited seating. If you needed seating we were told to get it ourselves. This was one of the rudest experiences I've had with the organization and they offered zero apology for their failure to communicate a change in policy. They withheld access to the show for multiple patrons and did not offer any compensation to many. Again, changes happen, but those changes need to be communicated and a simple announcement in the theater would have let people know, including the ushers, that access would not be allowed once...

Absolutely a total insult! Paying $10 per person for the morning dress rehearsal of the Columbus Symphony, featuring two numbers by Ballet Met dancers and a fine piano concerto, plus Symphony offerings, with a promise of coffee and doughnuts, of which they ran out before the rehearsal began. I estimated over a thousand people were in attendance at the CAPA-run gorgeous Ohio Theater. That's revenue of $10,000. Give me my hot cup of coffee on a freezing cold morning! This IS NOT CAPA's doing; it is solely on the shoulders of the CSO. What did not happen that should have? There was nothing telling what the audience would be hearing. I understand that it was a rehearsal, but a program line-up could have been posted on a lobby easal. After an hour and a quarter, everyone left the stage, as half the audience bundled up and departed. There was no mention if this were an intermission, which it turned out to be. The excuse I heard about running out of refreshments was that they got more people than anticipated. So, charge less for those who get nothing but a seat. Or, make...
