Spaces Uptown — Local services in Dallas

Future tenant beware! I have never posted a bad Google review for any business prior to this place but people need to know. This space was bought out by Regus spaces with absolutely zero notice to me as an existing tenant.

The first contact I had with them was notification that I needed to sign a new lease or move out immediately. I was very sick with Covid and advised them so but there was no response. I literally came to their office with a mask on and sat on the opposite side of a conference room to sign their paperwork so as not to get their own people sick. I have since attempted to terminate my lease per the date their staff told me that I could on that day. When I attempted to do so, their staff informed me in person that they would handle it for me. Fast forward two additional months and and I'm still without resolution. Apparently the "fine print" says otherwise.

I was lied to twice. To add insult to injury they automatically renewed my lease and gave themselves a a substantial rent increase while simultaneously removing amenities! Finally I was given the regional manager's number so I could call her directly to resolve this matter. She promised a call back that day. Instead what I got back was a short email stating that there is nothing they can do and I'm stuck in a lease now for several more months and thousands of dollars.

Spaces bought out venture x, which i had an agreement with for a year of a virtual office at $49/month, I paid for my year up front through venture x & was told everything would transfer over. I have an agreement with spaces that shows $49/month but they have continued to invoice me $144/month and now are saying that my term auto renewed and that I have to pay them almost $1200. My agreement ended back in october, they continued to try and charge me almost 3 TIMES the original rate for a VIRTUAL office. These people are doing shady business, stay far away from them. Instead of honoring what they said they have decided to try and scam me out of more money that I never agree’d to. I have it in WRITING. Stay away from these people, I believe they have done this to other people who had agreements prior with venture x. The space is actually nice and well maintained and the non-management folks here are nice but I have had nothing but problems here with how it is managed and the technology used to do it. Overall, it has been a very disappointing experience.

Update to my review, even though I cancelled my space, they have continued to bill me. It has been over a week and I have not received a refund.

Latest Update - As of December 2024, Spaces is still refusing to return my deposit and my service terminated at the end of April. They refuse to put me in touch with anyone that has any one that has decision making authority. They are claiming I owe some change over fee - watch out for the hidden fees. Do not do business with...
