READ THIS. LONG BUT NECESSARY 4 newly seniors stopped in about 6:00 on a Saturday night. We had not seen each other for a couple years and we had lots to catch up on. We were seated right away. A server came over for our drink order ( I donât think she was in a great mood that night) and when she came back, she wanted to take our food order. We said we were sorry we hadnât even looked at the menu. She walked away grumpy. We blew it off. She came a second time for our order and we still needed some time. My husband teased her and saidâ we promise when you come back in 5 minutes, weâll be readyâ. She rudely repliedâ well it wonât be 5 minutesâ and walked away even more grumpy. She came back again shortly after and we ordered our food. Her demeanor was that of a mean school marm. After a bit, one of our friends was wanting a second beer. She watched for our server but she didnât come around. So our friend asked another server or two and a bus person if she could get a beer and asked for me a Chardonnay. Our server comes up to me and says âyou donât know that Iâm your server and you ask someone else for a Chardonnay?â I was puzzled at her attacking me for reaching out to another server( my friend did that) and her SCOLDING ME! So we didnât get our drinks. My friendâs husband goes up to the bar to order and get the drinks and told the bartender ( maybe the manager?) about our treatment. Our food came and it was good but our dinner was ruined because of our treatment. I donât think this establishment knows the part about treating the customer with a smile and without getting grumpy. While still eating the bartender comes over and says, â we need this table, so we going to need you to finish up and leave!!â What! I think the bartender and the server must have a thing going on or something? No one apologized for her bad attitude not her not bringing 2 drinks. Since we hadnât gotten our drinks and had to order get them ourselves, I had over a 1/2 glass of Chardonnay left and asked for a box as my appetite was ruined by this whole scene. The bartender came over again and saysâ I need this table. I will call the police if you donât leave!â Remember, we are all newly 65 years of age, semi retired, had only had 1- almost two adult beverages and we were being kicked out. I think partially because our friends were buying and they chose not to tip ( we always tip generously even if the service was not good but we werenât paying that night. If it hadnât blown up so badly, I know my husband would have discreetly given the server a nice tip. But since we were literally kicked out of this place ( which if it wasnât so aggravating is funny and could be a SNL skit) we didnât get to. also I had an almost full glass of wine so I asked for a to go glass. ( I have seen people on the street with beverages). Bartender wouldnât give me one so I lost it! I poured the glass of wine on the bar and we walked out. We have in our many years of dining out, had some severs that arenât friendly, kind etc. I try to think that they are having a bad day. Usually we joke with them and kill them with kindness as we know itâs a tough job. They usually lighten up. But this scenario got out of hand. We were dealing with ANGRY SERVER AND THEN BARTENDER. There were plenty of tables and no people waiting so the bartender was not being truthful. I have the owners names and will be contacting them. I find it sad that they treated us so poorly and expected us not to get upset. Obviously not good business practices. Hopefully Snotty server improves her attitude and understand as in any job that serves the public in any way, that treating people with respect is key. We should have left with the first and second rude comments from our server before ordering. I hope you have a better experience. Oh I forgot our friend is a deputy in SD and had his badge...
Read moreOn 8/8 my friends and I went to go hang out at this location. The ladies went to use the restroom and one of them left their cell phone in the stall. The ladies exited the restroom as a staff member entered. She immediately realized she left her phone and returned to the restroom. The staff member was still in the stall as my friend asked if there was a cell phone left in there. She would not answer. When she exited the stall they asked her again and she responded with a shake of her head and said she only had her phone. They proceeded to ask the manager if anyone had turned in a phone and they said no. They pointed out the staff member to the manager and the manger denied that the staff member would do such a thing. They went back to the restroom to check one last time and noticed that the staff member hid the phone in the toilet paper dispenser which they found. They then went back to confront the staff member and she was defended by another staff member and immediately asked them to get the f- out of there. What kind of establishment backs up their employee that is stealing from customers. Needless to say we decided not to dine there. Very unprofessional staff, especially the young blond with the accent. Watch your stuff if you still decide...
Read moreMy sister and I come to the Black Hills taking in, among other places,Deadwood. We do some shopping and always stop at the Stockade for a beer, maybe lunch or dinner and people watch for maybe an hour before we continue to walk around Deadwood. Last year we stopped in at the outside patio as usual and just wanted a beer and to sit for a few minutes. We were told by the waitress that we had to order food or go inside. Never had that happen to us before. So, my sister asked if we could order an appetizer so we could sit outside. She said yes but as soon as the app was gone we'd have to move. We just got up and left. I don't understand this policy but as were planning on visiting again this year were skipping Deadwood altogether as our favorite shop ( a jewelry store) was also closed. There's a few really nice restaurants in town we've eaten but just thought you should know this happened. Better late than never. Until I thought about our upcoming trip the incident went forgotten. I hope for others sake this policy has been altered for...
