I cam to First Baptist Church well over a decade ago anticipating it being a one time experience so only as a guest. I have remained for now 13 years and found not only a place where I can explore my faith and its connection to community (and humanity )but people who share my values, my commitment to challenging and changing those elements that want to use faith (and religion) as a tool for judgment, oppression and separation. As some use the terms welcome and affirming, FBCD lives the intent and exact.meaning of the phrase. As important, when those old and new members and regular attendees say that "the doors to this church is open to everyone, and we do mean everyone" one need only come into our offices during the weekend where we serve people from all corners of our community, from every racial, faith/religion/ nationality, gender expression and identity, political ideological or social email need, you know it speaks truth invite you to come join us for one of the few 1 hour Baptist services in the heart of the city and why I so proudly embrace our phrase:...

The church was one of the first hosts of the Safe Outdoor Spaces in Denver for homeless women and this is such a great indication of how dedicated it is to filling its mission.
