Sexy Pizza — Restaurant in Denver

This past Monday I ordered a pizza from Sexy Pizza through their online portal for delivery at 6:30 PM. I expected a wait due to the holiday and was told by the system upon receipt that my order would be delivered by 8:00 PM. Once 8:30 rolled around, I gave the shop a call to inquire where my pizza was in the delivery route. Unfortunately, it was just being put in the oven. I found it odd that no one had bothered to inform me just how much later the pizza would be arriving but offered to come pick it up instead. I picked my pizza up around 8:45 and two friendly workers helped me locate the correct one. However, when I asked for a refund on the delivery fee (albeit very small), I was greeted with extreme push back from who I assume was the manager on duty, a man named Nick. He questioned me multiple times in a condescending tone about whether I "really wanted him to refund me 3 dollars". After arguing with me about how many tickets he had backed up and his lack of delivery drivers (his reasoning as to why my pizza was late), to which I indicated that a customer could and would never know on our side of things, he finally issued me my small refund. At this point it wasn't even about the late pizza. I'm not that much of a stickler. But this manager made me feel so small and uncomfortable that I am reconsidering ever visiting this establishment again. Which is a shame because they make a damn good vegan pizza. In one word:...

I've been going here for upwards of 3 years, regularly ordering weekly to bi-weekly for a long portion of that time. If you asked me the first 2 years of my experience it would easily be 5 star.

But in the last year there has been a major down grade in consistency and quality.

At this point I've been giving it a chance every couple months since it was so good when I first started going there. But I can no longer keep giving them chances.

I have received burnt pizzas, doughy pizzas, and undercooked chicken as a topping just to name a couple issues, 3 out of the last 5 times myself and others who ate this pizza have spent the next day unwell with stomach issues. This has been markedly worse as of recently.

The service has gone drastically down hill as well, staff seems more interested in chatting and socializing even when the line is stretched out the door. Picking up a call ahead order has taken 20min with only three people in line! The pizza was even ready before I walked in, I could see it on top of the ovens already boxed, it just took 20min to ring through 3 customers due to the staff. I have called in and had the call answered but no voice or anything on the other end just a open line no communication for several minutes no "Please hold" or any other message just silence.

This used to be one of my favorite and most recommended pizza places but it is no longer a quality...

Why 5 Starz? I used to love this place. On the last visit I recommended that we eat here, which was out of our way, and in one minute was completely soured by the service. I ordered a pre cooked slice of spinach and cheese and requested the addition of pepperoni. I was told by the pizza Nazi behind the counter that he didn't have pepperoni, so I asked for sausage. He told me that they had both toppings, but that he would not add them to a slice. I had to order a whole 25 dollar pie if I wanted extra toppings. When I realized he was serious, I left with neither the pizza or the desire to ever return or recommend this place again......That was my review a week after my last visit and right before the owner of sexys contacted me about my review. I have to say I was a little surprised. I've written many reviews and only Handful of 1 star reviews, but this was the first owner or manager to contact me and assure me that he would resolve this with staff,.... and the sexy pizza I remembered is still the same great neighborhood pizza joint. The owner Kyle apologised for my experience that evening and offered a few slices on him. I will most definitely return to complete my sexy pizza mission and set the universe right! Thank you Kyle for taking pride in your business. Now that is what small business...
