UCHealth Estes Valley Medical Center — Local services in Estes Park

Lived In this town almost my entire life and this hospital is absolutely one of, if not the worst hospitals in larimer county, this is my experience In this town. For one there's alot nurses that don't know how to draw blood. They've had to stick my girlfriend over and over in the arm blowing out veins and in my friends too, then being rude about it acting like your at the mercy of the hospital. In Estes Park you are kinda trapped if u enter this hospital during an emergency because no other hospital is nearby, the resources suck up here and the hospital bills are much heaftier than most other places. Dr.k was watching my girlfriends pregnancy and supposedly doing blood and urine tests on her. Come to find out she has preeclampsia when she almost dies from high blood pressure while in Longmont and her pregnancy wouldn't hand had to come to 29weeks 3 days premature term if doctor k actually checked her urine and blood like he said. (Now hes getting sued by another hospital for not doing his job) Luckly my girlfriend was in Longmont and UC health In Longmont identified the problem promptly and sent her to university of Colorado in aurora on flight for life. They said that receive an average of 25 patents in 3-6 months directly refered to Univ of Colorado that they say he had the resources to fix himself. being raised here I've had plenty of experience with all of Estes parks medical providers including salud medical clinic and this whole town seems to be at a lack of resources and knowledgable staff. Dont get me wrong there are a few good doctors that are up to date with there medical education but very few (probability is not in your favor!) like Dr.Florence the orthopedic surgeon but it seems this hospital will suggest you do unnecessary things to get more money out of u. Dont let them tell you you can't leave either its your god given right unless your deemed irrational. If your still reading this and you want to take your loved one somewhere they'll actually get the right treatment and help the nearest is UC health in Longmont. Little blocked looking hospital but I assure you they actually know their stuff and have resources galore. I hope I saved someone the agony and frustration this hospital can easily bring to you like...

Family was visisting Estes park. My daughter who is autistic and disabled and on Medicaid fell down stairs and we were advised. By travel insurance Generali to take her to the Estes park er we have them her Medicaid insurance and our Generali travel insurance. They accepted it. She wa in the er one hour with a cursory exam I had to request a splint and they gave her no prescriptions. Her ankle swelled like a ballon and turned blue. I have her Celebrex myself. A few weeks later bill for about 3600 for One Hour in er. The refused to bill her Florida Medicaid or travel insurance and have been harassing us with threatening emails. Brianna has limited social security income barely covers food They failed to bill her insurances two of them What a horrible experience

Can’t collect blood from a stone hut could have collected from her insurances if billed timely

If their cared about their patients they would have done things properly really 3600 from Hospital separate bill from er doctor separate bill for radiology and bill for inflatable cast that broke first day she used it ended up having to buy an elastic support Do not go to this er Go to a walk in clinic unless you are critical and if you are airvac oit or you may get tuberculosis or COVID from the person across the way from you with opened door coughing uncontrollably with no real barrier between you and them. So sad

Follow up it is now almost a year later and we are still receiving threatening emails to send Brianna to collections Despite providing the billing department with the insurance information they refuse to bill Our travel insurance Generali states of the claim is denied by Medicaid they will pay This is a loose loose situation as the medical center refuses to bill Brianna’s insurance so the other insurance can not be billed. Being on Medicaid and autistic Brianna has no assets and no ability to work Again she was in er one hour and had an x ray of ankle and no treatment The original bill was almost 4000 dollars Find another place to get your care in an emergency if you are in Estes park And your response is inappropriate. I’m very torn about leaving this review. I have been a patient of this office for 25 years. My daughter was born here in 2010. My doctors here; besides a select few that were specialty doctors have been the greatest doctors I’ve ever had. Proponents for myself and all their patients. Recently I went in for a check up. My regular doctor was out so I saw the physician who was covering for her. She ordered some blood work done in regards to some concerns I had. Went upstairs and had my blood work drawn. A month or so later I get a bill for $1700!! The total bill itself for the blood work and X-ray was $2000 and my insurance paid 300. I assumed this was ann insurance issue which they’ve always been great about paying for things so I called my insurance. The woman I spoke to explained to me that the blood work was coded as an outpatient ER visit and that if EPMC resubmitted under the correct code I would owe my copay - $25. My insurance called EPMC, I called EMPC and my PCP sent the billing dept an email requesting they resubmit. They never returned my phone calls, emails or my insurances phone calls. They have since sent me to collections. I always thought I was safe at Estes Park Medical Center from overcharging and upcoding, but I guess they are just as corrupt and predatory as so many other facilities. I love my doctor so much but I am fearful of fraudulent billing done by them now that I see they are happily doing it even when called out.
