ROMANTIC GONDALA RIDE ON THE ALA WAI?!?!?
As a born Hawaii local, it sounds very absurd haha because why the heck you want a romantic boat ride in the Ala Wai of all places??? Well my silly boyfriend had other ideas so he surprised me by signing up for this experience!
He told me to clear out my Saturday so we can have the whole day to ourselves. Skeptical but looking forward to whatever is happening. The day came and we woke up early, headed to the docks near the Prince Waikiki hotel, and were greeted by our Gondoliers named Shawn and Elliot, and gave us some abc store artificial leis haha. The boat ride included macadamia nut chocolates, wafer cookies, and apple cider. They shared some Hawaii fun facts, sang some songs, took our pictures during the ride. The ride started from the Waikiki harbor then we made our way under the bridge to the ala wai then we turned around all the way to Ala Moana's magic island. If you're planning to do this experience in the day, I recommend bringing sunscreen since the sun can be intense.
So thankful for my boyfriend for bringing me to this Gondola experience! For sure this will be added to my core memories together!
Okay yelp elite cap on, so a few things that needs improvement for the Gondola experience is that it would be nice if we kept the cider bottle and snacks after the experience, we had some leftover. Maybe I should've asked if we could've kept the snacks next time lol.
Lastly, it would be nice if the hosts asked more about me and my boyfriend's relationship/personal lives since it was a romantic experience. But the conversation was mostly 5% us, 15% Hawaii facts, and 80% about their lives/other business so the vibes felt a bit confusing. I still highly recommend this experience if you want something like a chill adventurous and different date night...
Read moreMy family and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Hawaii Wow Gondola cruises, and I have to say it was an absolutely wonderful experience. My wife Lisa, our son LJ, and I cruised around the boats and yachts of Waikiki harbor in a Venetian styled gondola equipped with a Hawaiian outrigger, and it was just amazing. What I loved most about this family-owned and operated business is that you could tell that Elliot, our gondolier, and Sean, who came along for the tour, truly love Hawaii and the chance to tell its story. As first-time visitors to the area, it was great to get a local's perspective on the harbor and its unique features. We were picked up at our hotel by "Gonda-Larry," who just happens to be Elliot and Sean's dad, and he was a great conversationalist. It made the experience even more special knowing that this was a family business that takes pride in providing a memorable and personalized experience for their guests. During our Hawaii Wow Gondola cruise, Sean not only provided us with interesting information about the harbor but also took some amazing pictures of our family against the stunning backdrop of Waikiki. It was a thoughtful touch that helped us to capture the memories of our experience. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised when Elliot and Sean offered us some tasty snacks during the cruise. It was a nice touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, the attention to detail and personalized touches of Hawaii Wow Gondola cruises made it a truly unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone...
Read moreMy daughter and I were looking for something special to do for our last night in Hawaii. I decided to Google best things to do in Waikiki and Waikiki Gondola came up. I’ve always wanted to take a gondola ride. I thought it would be a unique experience and a good way to end our vacation celebrating my daughter’s high school graduation. Larry, or Gondo-Larry as he’s also known, picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel. He kept us entertained with interesting stories the whole ride. We got to the dock and Sean and Elliot were waiting to greet us with leis. They took several pictures prior to the ride as we waited for the other couple to arrive. They presented my daughter with a balloon and a digital message on the gondola congratulating her on her graduation. Elliot was quite the comedian and told us many interesting things about the area prior to our ride. Sean was our gondolier for the hour long ride down the beautiful canal. He was the perfect host telling us interesting facts and even singing for us. There was a gorgeous rainbow which made the ride that much more special. The scenery was stunning. The gondola ride included desserts and sparkling apple cider in pretty flutes that we were given to take home with us. The other couple on the ride were nice and a lot of fun to spend the hour with. I would definitely recommend this activity and would go on it again if I ever make...
